My objective in creating (and/or managing) a memorial is simple – it is to honor the person's life, no matter how short or long a period of time that individual lived. If working with genealogy has taught me nothing else, it has taught me that life is a precious gift, not to be wasted. |
If I have a memorial for someone who has recently died, and you are a family member who objects to it, let me know & I will delete the memorial.
Please send requests for additions, corrections, linking, and transfers through the system FAG provides using the "Edit" tab in the upper right-hand corner of the memorial.
~~~When you submit an addition or correction, please include the OFFICIAL source (preferably a link), so that it can be confirmed. Any edit must be substantiated by the person submitting it before the edit will be made. The source name will be posted to the memorial, so that family members can confirm the posted information for themselves. I am unable to accept ancestry.com as a substantiating source, since many people are not members & cannot access information from that site. However, www.familysearch.org is an excellent free source for many records. If information cannot be substantiated, the edit request will be declined. In order to send substantiating information for your edits, use the "suggest any other suggestion or addition" link.~~~ Please note: I do not use birthdates or death ages from death records/certificates, as they are frequently wrong, in my experience.**
Unfortunately there are members who resent this desire for accuracy and send harassing, abusive messages; those messages will be forwarded immediately to F.A.G. admin.~~~
The sources I post on the memorials I manage are accessible to anyone wishing to confirm them, as I use the free website www.familysearch.org or online books for information.
I'm sorry, but I don't link to unknown burials.
F.A.G. transfer policy: Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. State your exact relationship, please. If you are seeking transfers to "have all my family together", use the virtual cemetery option.
I am happy to post information from an obituary that will enhance the memorial in the BIO section of a memorial.
Please do NOT leave biographical information and obituaries in a virtual flower. That is what the "edit" tab is for. This is against findagrave.com policy.
****Please do not post a death certificate, obituary, or anything else in the "photo section" except for person photos or photos of the gravestone.****
FOR GRAVESTONE PHOTOS THAT I HAVE TAKEN, PLEASE BE SURE TO CLICK ON THE PHOTO & THEN CLICK A SECOND TIME. THE PHOTO WILL ENLARGE & PROVIDE A CLOSE-UP.
Thank you Allison for the info on the parents of the subject individual. I've added both it and your source to her memorial.
Thanks for the updates!
My goodness, talk about the kindness of strangers. I am new to Find A Grave and am wondering where you obtained his parents names. His mother was born Lydia C. Raymond, not Crosby. Though I had most of his family's information I was amazed at what you included.
