Bio and Links
Bio Photo I ran across findagrave several years ago, and as I have a love for history, and finding out what part my ancestors played in it.
And have been continuing genealogical work began by my Grandfather Grant Anderson Pillow.
This gives my the opportunity to share with my extended family, the rich history that our family has shared in.
Everyone in the Memorial's that I have put up, or manage is related to me. And I am always willing to share what I find with any of my extended family.

Have a Great Day.

Samuel Newton Smith
Hi there: I understand your concern regarding his birthdate, but do you realize the Mary Ann (sister) connected could be incorrect? This sister is not listed on the 1860 census in Giles, Tenn. If she was born in 1857 she would be on this census. Also, the 1900 census, Samuel himself states he was born in 1857. The death cert. states 1857 as well as the cemetery records.
For these reasons, I will leave the birthdate as 1857, but I will make a "note" on the memorial as to the discrepancies in dates.
Respectfully,
Tricia

Napoleon Bonaparte White
Thanks, Michael, on the information on Napoleon B. White. He may be some kin to my husband, whose mother's maiden name was Watson. Her grandmother, Thressia Elcie Tucker Crafts Find A Grave Memorial# 91085529, is buried next to Napoleon White. I understand she was some kin to Napoleon. Her daughter, Beryl Josephine Crafts Watson, was married to Joseph Robert Watson. They are all buried in Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta. They lived in a small community south of Henryetta called Ryal where Joseph Robert had a general store which he operated until the 1960's I think. My husband may be able to tell us more. I will ask him. Anyway, thanks so much, I will continue to seek information on them.

RE: Sarah Elizabeth Lawson 'nee Watson
Thanks Cousin:) Yes, me/Julie is related to the Lawson side of this family.....so I guess you & I are very distant cousins! Thanks for all the info you've posted.....Jerry can't believe the first thing I wanted to do when we got home was get online & start filling in info on the Watson side! Ha! But he knows how very addictive this stuff is:) I just connected Sarah with her husband Frank.....so many interesting stories with both sides of this family! Now I'm really intrigued with who was Minerva Pitts' first husband! So I'm digging around.....even though I'm not related to her......:) Do you live in Oklahoma?? One of my sisters and her husband live in Vian, Okla.....in the eastern part of the state....it's HIS hometown......

Dormans
Well, dang, Michael! Glad to know you're still out there. We first connected, what? Maybe 15 years ago almost?

Great job on Wash Dorman's biography. I'm going to copy it and add it to his file on my family tree. You will be credited, of course. Hope you've gotten all my research info on Allen and the North Carolina connection. It's really a done deal now that I have the official court records to prove everything.

I've slowed down but am still plugging along. Just spent the afternoon doing Dorman research in Twiggs County. I don't think we're ever done.

Keep up the good work.

Just a note to tell you thank you for send the additional information on Clyde S Ferrell. I did link him to his parents and showed the name of the town where he was born. I appreciate the additional information.

RE: Malvina Taurus Willis 'nee Rieff
Michael,
Thanks for the Link to J J Willis web site. He hasn't really done much on the Rieff family that I can see, and he is also missing some children of Henry and Catherine Rieff.

Mr. Willis can contact me at jak.ish@verizon.net if he wishes.

FYI - Henry Rieff was an Architect in Wilson and Davidson Co. TN. Before his early death he was the architect for the original home of President Andrew Jackson in Nashville. A link below show a photo of a home Henry designed that is still standing (now a funeral home)

Henry Reiff, Architect of The Hermitage
Even though Henry Rieff died in 1824, and President Jackson's home, The Hermitage was not built until 1826, but many sources cite "our" Henry as the architect of the "original" one built in 1819. A citation:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_L._Caruthers
(Judge Robert) Caruthers' house, built in 1828, still stands on West Main Street in Lebanon. The house was designed by Henry Reiff, who built the original Hermitage mansion for Andrew Jackson in Nashville in 1819. Since 1938, the Caruthers house has been home to the Ligon and Bobo Funeral Home.
