Bio Photo I joined when I found a photograph of my father's grave in Wichita, KS. There was also a thoughtful comment about the circumstances of his death. I was so moved, that I hoped to do for others what had been done for me!

RE: The Woodins of Iola, KS
I transferred James and his family to you. You can add James's middle name.
I don't know if you are aware but the local paper is online, The Iola Register 1875 to Aug 1902 at the Library of congress site. The link below will take you to all the Kansas papers they have.

RE: Della Woodin
There are two cemeteries in the city, Highland and Iola cemetery. I have James Woodin, Iola cemetery, he was Sheriff of Allen co. at one time. His obit is on his memorial. If he is related just send me a note through the edit tab.

RE: Della Woodin
Your welcome! I found it in the Iola Register, while looking for another death notice.

Are they related to the Woodin's in Iola cemetery? If so I can transfer them to you if you like.

RE: Photo for Infant Girl Woodin
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help facilitate getting a stone for Marion. I'd be honored to help in anyway.

RE: Photo for Infant Girl Woodin
I really enjoy going out to the various cemeteries, so much so that I will drive a couple of hours out to the sticks to take photos!

FYI - Joe at Maple Grove Cemetery was very concerned about getting the location of the grave just right. He was consulting his book while looking at nearby stones, measuring it all out on a very humid day. He deserves the thanks...I just took the photos!

I sent a correction request to have the name changed from Infant Girl to Marion Opal. Hopefully the person managing the memorial will change it.

Grave Stone
Would you please remove the grave stone of Mrs. Smith from Louis Morgan Bryant Smith's memorial. The only Mrs. Smith relative that could possibly be there would be Louis's daughter in-law. That is not his spouse. Someone wants to add Louis Smith's actual headstone. The last I heard the curator said his stone was lost as in buried as the rest of that cemetery section. maybe they found it. Thank You

I need your help, please, maam. One of your pictures for this memorial is posted as a portrait rather than a grave picture. Consequently a portrait icon is popping up on the index page. Can you sort through and reset the identification? Thanks!

RE: Crombie Family
Hello Marcia!
My apologies for the delayed reply. I had trouble logging on remotely. THANK YOU so much for your information. I thought I'd fill you in on how the info fits with what I know.

(This is totally new to me, however the information matches with what I know) From Bessera Crombie's Obituary:

In the family plot were buried:
First: Josephine Crombie in 1910 in place 4
(Great!)

Second: Sadie Lucy Holley (died at 5 months in 1912of whooping cough)(J. W. Crombie listed as next of kin)
(I'll have to do research on this... I wonder at the name)

Third: Georgia Joiner in 1919 of a concussion (J. W. Crombie listed as next of kin)
(Again, I'll need to do research. New to me.)

Fourth: Martha Elizabeth Faulconer in 1919 of old age (born in Alabama - no next of kin listed)
(I've been looking for Josephine's mother's name for ages! This is probably her! Huge find! Thanks!)

The rest were more recent and are more closely related. I know of them. A HUGE thank you to you for your help. I can't wait to find out more about the new names!
