I am a native Texan born in Archer county, lived in Crockett county and Fort Worth, Tarrant county most of my life. I am a retired teacher and an avid family researcher. I am a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Daughters of the Confederacy, War of 1812, DAR, Colonial Dames, Jamestown, Magna Charta Barons and the Crown of Charlemagne. I love to honor my ancestors.|
I believe that memorials should be with a family member, so any that I have posted that is not my family can be transferred.
If there is a correction, addition or transfer that you would like made, use the edit on the memorial and I will see that it is taken care of.
My current project is filming Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth along with several other people. So if you need a photo of a memorial, post a request and you will receive an e-mail when it is posted.
My photos of headstones may be used in any way to promote genealogy. Please give me credit for taking them.

Thank you very much for the transfer of memorials for my three great-aunts. You have helped me connect a family.

|Daniel Vaughn||Vaughn Family History|
Just came across the Find-a-grave information you posted on Lee Owen Vaughn, SR and his wife Velma Edna Marcey. Was wondering if you could help me with contact information for my Vaughn cousins for my family tree? I was in the Navy for 22 yrs and since retirement have been researching Vaughn history and hoping to meet Vaughn cousins willing to exchange family photos/information.
I descend from William and Elizabeth (Wall) Vaughn's first son Stephen Peter, and the Vaughn's in your husband's tree descend from their third son Samuel David, all originally from Mecklenburg, VA, but relocated to Giles Co., TN in mid-1840's. Both Stephen and Samuel died young, ages 39 and 36 respectively. My GG-Gmother never left Giles County and my line has never moved far from our TN roots. We are in Nashville. Samuels widow, Cynthia (Dickerson ) Vaughn lived for awhile in Giles Co., never remarried, and ultimately moved to TX with her son, Nathaniel Monroe Vaughn. Nathaniel first lived in Montague, Co., second, Hall Co., then Lubbock Co., TX. It is his son, Thomas Monroe Vaughn, that is your husband's Gfather.
Are you on Ancestry.com? Our tree is the "Vaughn Family Tree" owned by dickievaughn13. If you want to see some of our Find-a-grave information I suggest that you perform a search for the Springhill Cemetery, Davidson County, TN and look for my Father, Douglas Ray Vaughn (1909-1972)
If you have interest in earlier Vaughn history you can contact us direct at email@example.com or phone 615-828-3725. I would not ask you to give out others personal information, but, if you know of anyone in your tree connected to the Vaughn name that would like to receive/share information please feel free to give them our personal information so they can contact us.
FYI, William Vaughn had six sons, five by Elizabeth and one by Sarah (Griffin) Vaughn. His sixth son, Theophilus, was married three times and had 10 children. They settled east of Dallas in the Commerce, Sulfur Springs and Cumby areas of TX. Made contact with two of his descendants this week, George Edward Vaughn in Greenville, TX and Von Dale Vaughn in Santa Clara, CA. Von Dale was a DNA match connection.
Hope to hear from you and thank you for any consideration,
|J. C. Hooper||Ginny Woody, Highland Cemetery, Lawton, OK|
Ginny does not have a grave marker yet. I will check back periodically when I'm at Highland Cemetery. I go there quite often. I am posting a photo as a virtual flower of one floral arrangement that was on her grave.
|Trapper John||Ginny (Stabler) Woody, Highland Cem., Lawton, OK|
I was with my grandson, J. C. Hooper, when he went out to photograph Ginny (Stabler) Woody's grave marker. I was standing there and noticed the Stabler graves next to Ginny's. I'm wondering if Ginny was Gina Stabler. The date of birth pretty well fits a cute, sweet, little blonde-haired girl I taught in the seventh grade at Tomlinson Junior High here in Lawton. The smile in the photo looks like Gina. I'd appreciate your leaving me a message if you ever heard Ginny referred to as Gina. She was so young, and I've felt sadness thinking about her ever since. I'm sorry for your loss of a good friend.
|Trapper John||Lillian C. John Nauert|
Thanks for updating Lillian's memorial with her maiden name. Lillian is not my direct line, so I don't need a transfer. Thanks for offering, and thanks for your help. Happy Thanksgiving!
