"Each name recorded here is a memorial, and perhaps the only memorial, of a human heart that kept its pulsations through some period of time, and then ceased to beat and has mouldered into dust.
"Each date had a great significance to some circle of human hearts.
"Memories are not only of death, but also of life. They died, but they had lived.
"All these names are memorials of human spirits that must pass from Time to Eternity, ready or unprepared, in youth or maturity; they go into Eternity, even as we are going. "All must pass away and be no more.
"...a genealogy was a list of the gifts to a family given by the Creator. He thought such a record was a wonderful thing to have."

I am on a "mission" to document as many NY Civil War soldiers' graves as possible. There are so many that go unnoticed. I have discovered many graves that are tucked away in corners far removed from all the others. Some of them are surrounded by trees or brush. No one should be forgotten, especially those who served our country.
If I fulfill a photo request, I will take photos of any other people nearby with that same last name, including maiden names.
Please only submit corrections and/or additional information by clicking on the "Edit" tab on the top right corner of the memorial and then "suggest a correction/additional information". __________________________________________________

 | Union Valley Cemetery Hello
I am writing to share with you that Union Valley Cemetery is located in Mahopac, NY, not Carmel, it is a very fine line so it is difficult to tell. | | | Joni Spellman Krause
 | Gays and Smiths May I use your photos on my tree at Ancestry.com? Thank-you, Joni | | | Stephen Webb
 | Azubah & Clarissa Selleck Hello, I saw Azubah & Clarissa Selleck listed in a Virginia Cemetery, when their graver are in Putnam Valley, NY. I requested photos of these graves, since the birth and death date were the same as my ancestors. Can you help to clarify? Many Thanks,Stephen Webb | | | Jeanne Fleck
 | Lots of trouble... Hello there. My name is Jeanne Fleck from Stamford and I have recently started to hunt down my ancestors. There were lots of secrets in my family so it has been quite difficult and frustrating. At any rate I found a picture of a gravestone which could POSSIBLY be my grandparents: Mildred and Joseph Gilbert in the New St. Peter cemetary. Do you have any information which may help me in finding out 'who I am'? I'm trying very hard to leave a legacy for my children. Thanks so much. JGF | | | Tiffany DeSimone
 | Mary Jane Johnston Hall Thank you for taking a picture of her grave for me. | | | Roland McClure
 | Truman J. Gault I find that the memorial is incorrect in that there is no record or grave stone for him. He was a native of Castleton, Vt. and had no ties to Lyndonville,Vt. I don't expect to get a reply but it would be nice to know where you obtained the information. | | | Melanie Leibold
 | Hopkins/ Ferguson Hi, Kim..I noticed that you put down the wrong parents for Sara Jane Ferguson. Her father was Joseph Ferguson (1826-1863) and her mother was Melinda Warren (1827-1852)..I am the great granddaughter of her sister Lydia who married a William Ruscoe. Melanie Leibold | | | CCorfey
 | Elisha Warren and Family Hi Kim,
A little over a month ago I wrote you about the memorial for Elisha Warren( Find A Grave 33829964) and his family Hannah Cummings Warren Croft (Find A Grave# 33798993), Phebe Warren (Find A Grave# 33829969) and Mary J Warren (Find A Grave # 33829965 ). I requested your help in either linking them or transferring them to me. So far I haven't heard back and nothing has been done with the requests. I was, however, able to link Elisha to his son Peter because I manage Peter's memorial.
Could you please enter Elisha's birth and death info and link him to his family members? Again, these are blood relations of mine so if you want to transfer them to me if that's easier for you, I'd be honored to have the memorials and link to them to their family members.
Elisha Warren Birth date: 4 Apr 1810 Death date: 14 Apr 1861 Please also link him to: Wife: Hannah Cummings Warren Croft Find A Grave# 33798993 Daughters: Phebe Find A Grave# 33829969 Mary J. Find A Grave # 33829965
I appreciate all you've done to create his memorial. Thank you very much. Cathy Corfey Find A Grave# 46920483
