I am no longer living in Knoxville,TN. We have moved to Port Saint Lucie,FL. I began to assemble a family tree in an effort to learn more about my predecessors, to find out more about who they were, what they did, where they lived and what became of them when they passed on. This project led me to Findagrave and thanks to other Findagrave members I was able to learn where many of my relatives were buried and see their markers. As family members are scattered around the country it is difficult if not impossible to visit them all. As a way to pay back the kindness of those members taking photos for our family, I began taking photographs of headstones for others and creating memorials. It has become an interesting and relaxing hobby. If I have created a memorial page for a relative of yours and you would like it transferred to your care just let me know. Also, please keep in mind when you request a photo that many cemeteries are large and not well marked. Without information about the plot location the plots can be time consuming to find. Try to contact the cemetery by mail or phone and obtain any info. about the plot location to help myself and other Findagrave volunteers find your loved ones resting place and take the photo you desire. I would also like to give special thanks to Robert A. McGinnis. Robert is the Knox County Cemetery Historian and his efforts in researching and documenting all the cemeteries in Knox County, Tenn. and many in surrounding counties have been a great help to those of us that walk the cemeteries in search of headstones. Thank you Robert ! Questions pertaining to interments at Old Gray Cemetery in Knoxville should be directed to Alix Dempster at 865-522-1424 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Quite often she has additional information relating to those interments.|

Howard, Thank you for the transfer. I have updated
his memorial and will have more to add later. He died in April 1862 during the Battle of Cumberland Gap. Have not yet found the Surgeon's report giving actual cause of death, but have added his family.
Again thank you for your contribution to Find-a-Grave. Bill Neff for the Society

Many thanks for transferring your fine photo to Elizabeth Jane York Hall's memorial Page. Also, I want to thank you for all the valuable contributions you have made to Find A Grave in the Knoxville area. Thanks to you I have found so many of my East Tennessee ancestors.
|Arlys Walvatne||RE: Judith Larson|
You are very welcome. She married my first cousin if I hadn't told you.
Thank you for the photos of my daddy's headstone you've added to his memorial.

I sponsored the memorial for Mr. Strong in order to provide updated pictures. The cemetery power washed his momument so it no longer looks as it did in the photographs you added. Would you please allow the new photographs to be on the top?
Thank you, Marilynn Johnson
|Smilydino||RE: Wrong headstone photo???|
John M Baker was a real Col. in the military and buried here. All I can say is the photo doesn't belong on Baker's memorial. Perhaps a new memorial for Boker should be added along with your photo..

Your photo on 2966565 says J M Boker. The memorial is for J M Baker. Any ideas?
