FOR ALL THE FOLKS THAT SPUTTER ABOUT WHAT INFORMATION I AM LACKING ON MY MEMORIALS...PLEASE SEE PHOTO AT LEFT. IT SHOULD EXPLAIN MY DILEMMA!|
I have gone around a lot of Caledonia County of Vermont photographing entire cemeteries. I am in the process of transcribing all of the photos and will post names that are not already on the site.
But, as I live in the world of "not much better than dial-up internet", it will be at the most basic level. (ie, not linking family members). The volume is just too high, and internet too slow. I will, however, do my best to keep up with any requests made.

Hey Anne, Sorry for the late response but I've had "a lot" of family issues this past few weeks. :-( No one died or anything .... just lots going on!
It's great to here from you ... may you and yours have a blessed year! :-)
|Barbara Guilmette||Grave site for James Gilbert|
I am working on my family roots and tracing my father George J. Gilbert's marriage to Josephine Lynaugh. I came across this headstone where James Gilbert was buried in Victory Vermont, died 1939. I know they were divorced when James was a baby and he never knew his biological father
I'm looking for more information on James and verification to know if James actually was my half brother?
I know my father was married 3 times. His second wife Lulu Colley died from the flu they had 3 children. Then he married my mother and they had 6 children.

Thank you, Anne. Mark Atwood is my interest he was a former pastor of the First Baptist Church of Starksboro VT where I am the clerk. He died in St. Johnsbury where, as you know, a number of his family lived and died but I have not found his grave. His memorial was created with burial unknown. If you ever come across it, please let me know.

Love that you take distance shots; makes it easy to find graves in cemeteries like Glenwood & Mt Pleasant where "sections" have not carried consistant names thru the years!

Well isn't that strange...I've got the town list with her name on it...she's listed in Lot 273...guess we'll have to check that out. It'll be a while...I'll try calling the cemetery office on Monday.

Now I see what started this conversation. I'll be patient about trying to link up the Halls.
The first time I went to the Overlooks, none of graves in Old Overlook were listed anywhere. It was the same with some of the others nearby. Thanks for taking on so many cemeteries.
|Paul Rathje||RE: Overlook old/new cemetery|
If you look at page 20 of https://vermonthistory.org/documents/digital/CemeteryIndex5.pdf you'll find all of Concord's cemeteries listed, including both Old Overlook and New Overlook. It's the same on Northeast Kingdom Genealogy's site - http://www.nekg-vt.com/Cemeteries-of-VT/essex.htm#top.
I remember reading that the graves in Old Overlook were moved to the current location in the 1950s when Moore Dam was built and flooded the old site.
|Paul Rathje||RE: Overlook old/new cemetery|
I've been to this location several times because these are family graves. I see two cemeteries side-by-side but with a fence in between and separate entrances. That's why I started the Old Overlook cemetery.
I've included photos with all my entries and entered many of the family relationships. Though I've also noticed the duplication, I'm not sure I agree with your suggestion about how to fix it.
But I'd be happy to cooperate in moving memorials that are actually located in Old Overlook.
