I began to assemble a family tree in an effort to learn more about my predecessors, to find out more about who they were, what they did, where they lived and what became of them when they passed on. This project led me to Findagrave and thanks to other Findagrave members I was able to learn where many of my relatives were buried and see their markers. As family members are scattered around the country it is difficult if not impossible to visit them all. As a way to pay back the kindness of those members taking photos for our family, I began taking photographs of headstones for others and creating memorials. It has become an interesting and relaxing hobby. If I have created a memorial page for a relative of yours and you would like it transferred to your care just let me know. Also, please keep in mind when you request a photo that many cemeteries are large and not well marked. Without information about the plot location the plots can be time consuming to find. Try to contact the cemetery by mail or phone and obtain any info. about the plot location to help myself and other Findagrave volunteers find your loved ones resting place and take the photo you desire. I would also like to give special thanks to Robert A. McGinnis. Robert is the Knox County Cemetery Historian and his efforts in researching and documenting all the cemeteries in Knox County, Tenn. and many in surrounding counties have been a great help to those of us that walk the cemeteries in search of headstones. Thank you Robert ! Questions pertaining to interments at Old Gray Cemetery in Knoxville should be directed to Alix Dempster at 865-522-1424 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Quite often she has additional information relating to those interments.|

You helped me before and since I can't get anyone at Find a Grave to reply to my question I thought you might point me in the right direction.
I am trying to get the ownership of two graves (#16391638 & #16391619) transferred to me but they were added by an anonymous person. Any ideas how I can make this happen?
|the Ragityman||RE: Roberta Bowling|
Sorry about that. I'll get back to you on that. Thanks for your patience.
Howard, Thanks for adding the family links to Pauline Major Ailor! Kind regards, Barb L.

Thank you very much. I've been working on her lately, and am grateful for the transfer.
Have a wonderful week.

Howard, I am looking for a James Sutherland (Sutherlin) that married a Rachel Gwinn 12 Nov 1840 in Jefferson County Tenn. They had a daughter Malinda Jane Sutherlin. She married Marcus Mills in Daviess County Kentucky. Their son James Mills married Mary Matilda Sutherlin the daughter of Evan Sutherlin. Evan was the son of William Southerland.
Thank you for all your additions. My ancestors (great grandparents) were Truans who left Tennessee sometime around the 1910's and settled in Alhambra, California where my mother was born in 1942.
Thank you for the information. Your work is appreciated and your photos are excellent. I have used the Natl. Gravesite Locator for reference, but wasn't sure how accurate it is. I will give those "not here" memorials some attention when we are done with the duplicates. I'll see if I can either match them with a correctly spelled memorial by plot number or find out where they are really buried.

Howard, in almost all of the ones that USVA spelled the name wrong I sent the SAC to USVA and not you even though theirs was first. support(at)findagrave edits them, and I told them yours was the correct one. The last time I checked they were processing them and giving the contributor with the correct spelling management. All of the others, if there was a mistake or dates needed, I did submit edits through the new edit system. With the new system edits are being done more quickly - not perfect yet, but much better. We really are trying to clean up the mess the data import caused.
