I began to assemble a family tree in an effort to learn more about my predecessors, to find out more about who they were, what they did, where they lived and what became of them when they passed on. This project led me to Findagrave and thanks to other Findagrave members I was able to learn where many of my relatives were buried and see their markers. As family members are scattered around the country it is difficult if not impossible to visit them all. As a way to pay back the kindness of those members taking photos for our family, I began taking photographs of headstones for others and creating memorials. It has become an interesting and relaxing hobby. If I have created a memorial page for a relative of yours and you would like it transferred to your care just let me know. Also, please keep in mind when you request a photo that many cemeteries are large and not well marked. Without information about the plot location the plots can be time consuming to find. Try to contact the cemetery by mail or phone and obtain any info. about the plot location to help myself and other Findagrave volunteers find your loved ones resting place and take the photo you desire. I would also like to give special thanks to Robert A. McGinnis. Robert is the Knox County Cemetery Historian and his efforts in researching and documenting all the cemeteries in Knox County, Tenn. and many in surrounding counties have been a great help to those of us that walk the cemeteries in search of headstones. Thank you Robert ! Questions pertaining to interments at Old Gray Cemetery in Knoxville should be directed to Alix Dempster at 865-522-1424 or email@example.com. Quite often she has additional information relating to those interments. I am no longer living in Knoxville,TN having moved to Port St. Lucie,FL.|

I cannot begin to express my gratitude to you for transferring the grave site of a Great Grandfather of mine, Michael Horst. We have searched for his grave through the years and now that you have transferred the site to me, I feel close to him.

Quite a family group! My grandfather & his two before him - back to the early 1800's were born in Knox County. The various family lines are easily confused.
Thank you for your work. I also have received help from Mr. McGinnis & Knox County contains some very extensive genealogy records.
