I began my genealogy researching after my father mentioned that he wanted to know what happened to one of his aunts on his father's side. He didn't know his father since he passed away in 1935 just after he was born. He didn't know a thing about his grandparents on his father's side either, so my search began. I wanted to locate information, any information that I could gather for him. |
After I received marriage and death certificates for some of the relatives, names started fitting into place. I found it interesting and intriguing. The journey has taken so far 3 years and I still have a long way to go.
I am now searching for locations of graves/headstones for many of my relatives so that I can let my father know where they are resting.
I am hoping that this site can help me find the relatives long lost. Maybe some of the family headstones that I add can help others in their search, as well.
Family names include: Thompson, East, Roope, Roop, Rupe, Hudson, Wolfe, Loftis, Lewis, Wilbourne, Wilburn, Wilborn, Nance, White, Bond, and many others.
I am having difficulty in locating graves for many relatives. I know where they passed away but where they are resting is a mystery. Maybe some day they will no longer be mysteries.

|Diane Simmons||Jonathan Raines King and Ellen Robinson King|
According to their death certificates, both J R King and his 2nd wife Ellen are buried in Thornsprings Cemetery. I'm assuming they have no marker? Could he be next to Lucinda?

|FAITH TRASK||looking for grandmothers family harless|
not sure im in the right place but my grandmother was born in 1899 named grace and had a brother Luther Harless born about 1896 or so, she was put in a orphanage and he wasnt. i cant find much about the orphanage as it had a fire years later and files were lost. my grandmother grew up in the orphanage and moved to new york and married. her mother was India Harless. would mean the world to me to know more.
