I have been doing genealogy for many years. One of my favorite things in researching is visiting cemeteries. I love to just walk around the tombstones and try to imagine what the people's lives might have been like. I have been contributing tombstone pictures to this site to help fellow genealogists that are a distance away that can't visit their relative's gravesite in person. |
My family has been a big assistance to me in my project for this website. My son, Trenton, my daughter, Alena, and my husband, Terry, have helped me take tombstone photos. So a big "THANKS" goes out to all three of them!!
Quote from Findagrave: "The goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. THE ULTIMATE GOAL SHOULD BE TO HAVE MEANINGFUL, ACCURATE MEMORIALS THAT HONOR THOSE WHO HAVE PASSED AWAY, REGARDLESS OF WHO CREATED THE MEMORIAL OR WHO MAINTAINS IT." Please keep this in mind when you request a transfer as it takes a lot of time and money to do research to add memorials to this site. I love working on this site, but I have run into some problems just recently.
I DO WELCOME ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS AND FAMILY LINKS. The more information the better!! I usually get the updates done within 1 or 2 days.

Do you know if an original record book exists for Rob Roy? If so, what institution would be holding it?
Thank you for all what you do especially for us people that live out of state and can't visit Rob Roy.

|Michael Winner||Looking for a possible grave in Warren County|
Hello, I am currently researching two Indiana Civil War veterans who were from Warren County, Indiana. You posted one of their grave sites, Henry Alburn is buried in West Lebanon Cemetery. His residence at the time he enlisted was Marshfield. The other soldier's name was John Abott. He was from West Lebanon. His grave is not listed. Both of these soldiers were in Company "F" 72nd Indiana Mounted Infantry, part of the famous "Lightning Brigade". Company "F" was completely made up of men from Warren County. I live in Muncie, and plan to make a trip over there to see if there are any records in Williamsport. Any suggestions?
|Laura Hicks||Martin Landis|
The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it says "Co D", and the Martin Landis that I know belonged to "Co I" which was a neighboring company. Everything else fits into place so well, that I can only think it was a mixup as companies were often blended due to loss of men. Otherwise, he's right where he belongs with the rest of the family at the Potomac Cemetery.

I have been searching around for my great, great, great, great grandfather for some time. I should have assumed there'd be issue with his last name. Anyway, I'm adding what I have to his page and I hope to link some of his family as well. He has many brothers and sisters on here, so I'll have to see his mother or father have a page to link them all. He has quite the story! I hope you enjoy it.
|William D. Brown||Henry C. Cronkhite Memorial|
OH, YOU WILL LOVE THIS.
You added a wonderful picture of Henry C. Cronkhite's monument on his Find A Grave Memorial page (# 49529002). The next time you are in West Lebanon Cemetery, take a look at the back of the monument. There you find a memorial to his brother Luke. Both died in the Civil War, and according to family records both are buried in the cemetery.
For what it is worth, I have added a Find A Grave Memorial page for Luke (# 149031843).
And thank you for all of the fine work that you do.
William Dodd Brown,

We have chatted before. Would you know how I can find the deceased names whom are interred in Lot #13 in Rob Roy?
It was deeded to Thomas Marquess in 1840, but he and his family are interred in Ohio.

|Patty Cook||Cornelia Ann (Ward) White|
You have done a wonderful work with all of your listings. Thank you very much!!!
I found my relative, Thomas J. White and his wife, Cornelia Ann (Ward) White. But somehow her death year is posted as 1981, which would make her waaaaaaaaay too old! ha! Her tombstone says, 1881.
Thank you very much for alllllllll you do and are doing!
