Please email me if you know the resting place of any soldier I have not yet found.
Origins of Companies
B---Fulton and Mason Co.
F---Tazewell and Woodford Co.
G---Fulton and Schuyler Co.
September 2013. I have started a virtual cemetery for Mason County IL WWI Veterans.
2012 Virtual Cemetery for victims of the Chatsworth Train Wreck in my list virtual cemeteries.
I generally try to add whatever additional bio I can find when I enter a memorial, military or otherwise. I use Ancestry.com , marriage and census records, and other similiar types of search sites.
Please contact me if I enter incorrect info or links.
I enjoy taking and posting photos.
Cemetery walking involves planning, time, gas, bees, flies, gnats, ticks, assorted other bugs, dogs, burrs, briars, weeds, tall grass, snakes, scrapes, cuts, mud, dirt, snow, rain, dust, wind, sun, rutted roads, hills and dales, getting lost, and BUCKETS of sweat.
I had to throw my lunch to a couple wild peacocks headed my way. Seems they have a fondness for egg salad.
I appreciate those folks who list their source when posting my photos to Ancestry.com :)

Debra, Killer Angels is one of my favorite books on the Civil War. Ted Turner's as well. That's why he had to do the movie GETTYSBURG, which was originally going to be entitled KILLER ANGELS, but the way I hear, he felt that more people would not understand KILLER ANGELS and decided that more people would go see GETTYSBURG. As for your mom and General Lee, I'd like to hear what your mom has to say about Lee and his actions at Gettysburg. Perhaps if we ever meet, we can discuss it more fully. You know I was in the movie GETTYSBURG. Got to meet most of the key actors and got to see Ted, Jane and Bridget. You know he as a small part in the movie. Watch it again if you get the chance. If you and your mom do any more cemetery walking, let me know. I would love to talk about Gettysburg. Take care, Baxter

Hi Debra, I am a descendent of Job Carlock and I see that you requested a photo quite a while back but the request has not been filled. Was wondering if you could remove your request and allow me to do one so that I can track it. Thanks so much and have a great day!

thanks for replying. It is easy to flip numbers for sure, just goes to show headstones can be incorrect. If I run across a death certificate and shows what you have recorded will let you know otherwise I will assume headstone is in error. Keep up the hard work!

Was wondering about the differences in the birthdate for George, according to census 1867 is correct so the headstone is wrong I'm assuming.
|Valarie Thompson||RE: Pearl Loux|
Thank You so much, yes please transfer Pearl and her husband to me. Margaret Pearl Omer is the twin sister to Earl and siblings to my grandmother Ethel Helene. They were all very close. I appreciate your help so much! I wish I had pictures of all their headstones.
I'm very interested in communicating with you in regards to the SHOWALTERS. In particular, I've hit a brick wall with David Showalter 1815-1890, Randolph, Indiana. Husband of Jamima Etter. If you would care to see if you can help me .. thanks.. email@example.com. His marriage license lists 'John Showalter' as his father.
