RE: Mary Catherine Crenshaw Reese
The owners of Reverie acquired the portrait, and hung it in the parlor of their mansion in Marion, Alabama. On an antebellum tour of the city, we toured Reverie and saw the painting, etc. I do not believe Mr. or Mrs. Reese ever lived there, but her home does still stand on the outskirts of town there. Wish I knew more to relay.

RE: Mary Catherine Crenshaw Reese
Simply that her oil on canvas portrait by Marion artist Nic Marschall is hanging in the main parlor there, along with a small watercolour of her husband, Carlos Reese.

You're welcome! It's always a let down when I know someone is there but there's no stone. Especially when the husband or wife is there, as is the case here. I have many in my genealogy who are that way. Guess either there's no money of no one cares when the last one passes. Sad isn't it??
