Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy for over 18 years. Been married for 53 years, have 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great grand daughter. Am so glad to share this info and pictures with families of those I have listed. Genealogy is all about helping each other--a two-way street. Grave stones are one of the best ways to locate family information. There is now a trend to only use years on stones....please do what you can to keep this from happening so future researchers will be able to get complete dates.

My great uncle is buried in this cemetery. Can you please post a picture of his grave marker. It would be much appreciated!

RE: Posted flower for kids
Rachel,
Thank you for visiting these memorials. A couple of the clues for this event came to me from Suzannah McCuen, which prompted me to do more research. Up until recently, the memorial for these three children was rolled up into one memorial. After learning their names, I gave them each a separate memorial. The facts in this case were not easily found, but I just kept hounding libraries, universities and historical centers until I could put this tragedy on the memorial for Jay. The images that went through my mind about that October night, were disturbing to say the least. I have heard some horror stories, but this one got to me. I would not let it go until I could write that Bio.
Thanks again,

Jeff

RE: Ledford Graves at Bess Chapel
Hi Rachel,
I saw where Julius Howell registered for the draft in 1917, but the only other records I found are for the death of their son Edgar Alexander Howell and for Georgia Eva Howell Ledford. I can't link Georgia cause I don't know where Julius and Dora, oh never mind, they are buried in the Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Lincoln County. I will send you the request to link them.
See you later cousin.

RE: Ledford Graves at Bess Chapel
We are both related to Crayton, but the one that I keep finding was born in 1903 in Cleveland Co., and he married Wilma Camp. The older Craton that was born in 1815 does appear to have been married to a Betsy Howell. Their daughter Mary Elizabeth is buried in the Cedar Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lincoln County. Can't find much more on Craton and Betsy. #27738588 is her memorial number. Another child of Craton's and this time Emaline is buried in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Lincoln Co. His name was William A. Ledford. Looks like Craton and Emaline had 8 children living with them in 1870. I'm sure you already know all of this. I wish that I could be of more help but records were very sketchy in those years.
We are distant cousins, what do you think of that?

RE: Ledford Graves at Bess Chapel
Hi Rachel,
Thanks for your message about my Aunt & Uncle. You did a good job clearing off those flat markers. Tony's really looked like it must have been submerged in that red clay. Georgia was related to my mother's family and she married into my father's family. Sometimes I get so obsessed with one side of the family, I forget about the other side. Anyway, her middle name was Eva and her maiden name was Howell. Did I forget to request those edits too? I may have just overlooked it. That Family Search record has misspelled Mountain, on the end of Kings too. Could you link her to her parents for me? Thank you very much Rachel!

Dear Mrs. Tanner,

I am hoping that you are related to HM2 Haynes and have records indicating the names of the three Marines that were killed with him.

All I have is the Futenma Air Station list of crashes and number of casualties (without any names).

I added symbols for them too, and would like to be able to fill-in actual names on my records.

Thanking you, in advance, for any help you can be.
