If YOU don't follow Find a Grave's FAQs then others think they don't have to either.

OBITUARIES: Names of those who are still living within an obituary is not allowed—it's that simple.

If you submitted a legitimate edit request that falls within Find a Grave's FAQs and it was declined, don't worry, Find a Grave will make the final determination. Simply forward the email you received declining your edit request, to edit@findagrave.com. Include a brief explanation and press send. It's that easy and it works!

Find a Grave's FAQs are a great resource and they will help you navigate this site.

Find a Grave's Quick Tips:
• Uploading photos
• Memorial naming conventions
• Suggest a correction (SAC) via the edit tab
• About duplicates
• Transferring memorials
• Women married more than once
• No posting of obituaries
• Virtual flowers (NO biographical info)

Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

I have noticed a couple of bad problems with Findagrave... there are far too many duplicate memorials; and, duplicate or incorrectly named cemeteries, although we all make mistakes, and I have been guilty of duplicating a few myself! Most cemetery naming mistakes are made by individuals that don't live in the State and or County in which the burial takes place.

Please check thoroughly to see if there is already a memorial created for someone, before creating a new one, and don't create a cemetery unless your are familiar with the cemeteries in the area of burial! It only takes a short time!

Thank you!

I have been a genealogist and historian since about 1980. I also belong to various Historical Societies.

I have taken between 15,0000 and 20,000 photos of tombstones, primarily in Floyd County, Kentucky. I took the photos between 1999 and 2003, before I knew Findagrave existed. I am now posting memorials using the photos or adding them to memorials already being managed by others.

Last names searching:

Spencer (Ky, VA & MO), Turner (KY, VA)

Hall, Osborne, Howell & Martin (eastern, KY

Please email me with any correspondence.

Any photos that have been posted by me that are not credited to someone else, may be used for personal purposes only, as long as you give me the credit. Please contact me if you'd like because we may be related!

Please use the edit tab to contact me concerning any edits you need me to perform on memorials that I manage or for transfers. I typically transfer memorials if I'm not related. If you don't intend to make edits to memorials you ask transfer of then don't ask... I believe one should add photos and other documents if available.

Fannie Sublett ALLEN
Hi, Fannie's mother was Lode Webb SUBLETT and her father was Jay SUBLETT 1881-1905. Jay's parents were Allen and Rhuhenna Vanhoose SUBLETT. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I thought you should know. It might be easier to check my tree on ancestry.com

RE: Turner Ancestry
Jim,

I am related to the Turners through my grandmother who is Rose Turner Wilson. Her parents are Samuel & Elizabeth "Betsey" Huff Turner, who moved from Floyd Co., Ky. abt. 1871 to Elliott Co., Ky. Sam's parents were Adam & Margret Patton Turner who were from Floyd Co. and many of their descendents are still there. You photographed many of their gravesites, located south of Prestonburg, Ky. They are also from Knott Co. Ky., the Caney Creek and Beaver Creek area. I hope this explains what you are looking for.

Regards,

John Wilson

Turner Ancestry
Jim,

I want to thank you for all the hard work you have put into taking the pics and uploading them to Find A Grave, especially for the Turner family. I am up here in Mich. and don't get to that part of the country very often. I have used your pics & info on ancestry.com and you have greatly facilitated the understanding of my Turner Ancestors. You are to be commended for your service that touches so many people.

Regards,

John Wilson

Brenda Laferty
tom martin cemetery
Hargis Laferty should be here, last year we couldn't fine him and there were tomestomes broken by the road, was hoping one of them wasn't his. It's a regular stone. This cemetery is a big mess but if you would check it out please. There should be Fannie Patton Patrick but I think it's one of the small stones with no name. If you can't I understand, it was hard for us to look.

Mary Jane Mollett Lewis #68370706
Hi, Mary was my Great Aunt. I've found about 4 graves here for her, but yours is the only one with a photo. It looks like she was buried with her son, Bennie. Her husband was really Banner Lewis Sr 06-03-1895 to 08-06-1979. Do you know anything about why she wasn't buried with her husband or if maybe the tombstone isn't accurate? Thank you.
