Bio and Links
Bio Photo My ONLY intention is to create a HISTORICAL RECORDING of those who are "Gone, but not Forgotten" before their tombstones are lost forever and if that helps YOU find your family, super!

My paternal gggrandfathers were Alexander Allen (m. Nancy Adeline Branson) AND William Irvin Brewer. Alex Allen lived in Long, OK and died in 1915 in Muldrow, OK. My maternal gggrandfathers were Albert Lafayette Rogers buried in King Cemetery, Franklin Co, Arkansas and John Henry McGee.

Thanks to Teena Cantrell for helping me find my great-great-great grandparents John Pitcher and Polly Allen. And Thanks to Alvin Derby and Betty Taylor Thompson for helping me find Camp Meeting Cemetery where they are buried! What a treasure you are!!! All information about Camp Meeting Cemetery is by John Albert Burnett in the 1920's.

Thanks so much to Linda Creamer Furr who passed away June 2012 and Linda from Arkansas for all the biographical information on my entries in Franklin County, Arkansas. All obituaries or other information are credited to "The Johnson County Graphic", the "Sallisaw County Times" newspaper archives, Times Record Online, Agent Funeral Home, Sallisaw, Ok and Ancestry.com.

Remember me, as you pass by, As you are so was I. As I am you soon will be. Prepare in Life for Eternity.

Oh Yeah, Meet you at the East Gate!!!

RE: Thomas J Cantrell
I have been talking with Cemetery Guy and
was going to email you today to remove the
link. I have just started working the Cantrell line. They married my Wests, Battenfields, Taylors, and Starrs. James D Cantrell married Olive Selina Lee whose mother first married Solomon Battenfield and that is the line I was working on! Thanks for the pictures! Will check them out. I know Debbie's work. She has a lot of my relatives and it is tough to get a correction thru her!

RE: Maggie C. Cole
Francis, I apologize for being mixed up about the cemeteries. I was at Short Mountain Cem., La Flore County, about four years ago, not Iron Bridge Cemetery. Short Mountain is where many Coles are buried including Quincy Barnes and Lanie Cole Barnes' daughter, Augusta (Gustie) Struble, who died about 1938. I don't know why they have my grandfather's name wrong on Emma (Lanie)'s headstone, but his name was Quincy Leonidas Barnes, born about 1870 in Mississippi. He remarried about 8 years later, after Lanie died, and had two daughters, one of whom was my mother (no longer living). Quincy died in 1945 in Wellington, Texas.
I am thankful that you have answered our question of where Lanie is buried. Hopefully, some day soon I can see her gravesite.

RE: Maggie C. Cole
Frances,
Thank you for being so good to answer my query. I did not realize the Coles had a daughter named Maggie who died. The Emma you mentioned was the wife of my grandfather, Quincy Leonidas Barnes. She is listed on their marriage license as "Lanie." When we found out some four years ago who my grandfather's first wife was and went to Iron Mt. Cem. to find her, we did find the daughter, Gustie (Augusta)Struble's burial stone (she died in 1938 I believe) but not Lanie's. Maybe this solves the mystery. How can you tell that the headstone is for both girls?
Thank you so much,
Mary Pritchard (Lanie's half niece)

Maggie C. Cole
The memorial for Maggie C. Cole at Iron Bridge Cemetery is puzzling - how did someone arrive at the idea that Emma D. Cole Barnes shares the same headstone? And who is Emma D. Cole Barnes?
My grandfather Quincy Barnes was married to Elaine Cole who died in childbirth in 1899 - Is this Emma another name for Elaine?

Frances, Would you consider tranferring Alfard's memorial to me? He was my great-grandfather. I would appreciate it, if it is possible. Thank you, Anita

Just a Simple Thank You!
In the past couple of years, I have found your name on most of the memorials of my relatives in Franklin and Crawford Co. Ark. I am so truly in your debt for all the work you have done, that has made my quest so much easier. I thank you..David
