I enjoy indexing cemeteries. |
I have indexed the Heards Prairie-Petteway Cemetery in Robertson Co., Texas. This is our family cemetery. I am the historian for this cemetery. Any updates, obituaries, and or corrections would be appreciated.
I have newspaper articles for the Franklin News Weekly from 1970 to present and The Bremond Press from 1997 to present.
I am trying to catalog the obituaries by the cemetery. If you have any obituaries before 1970, please let me know.
Please do not ask me to transfer a memorial if it doesn't fall within the FOUR GENERATION GUIDELINE. I am not transferring any of the families from the cemetery at the moment.
The family lines that I am looking for are:
Jones, Johnson, Jenkins, Joyce, Brantner, Brown, Yates, Ahern, Dickens, Bailey, Martin to name a few.

Could possibly email me so that I can correspond with you concerning Willard Riley Mosley?
I saw your photo request for a Frank Young buried in Hollywood Cemetery. The FamilySearch WIKI has a database of Hollywood burial applications, but the only Frank Young is Dec 19, 1931 and a 65 year old man. I would have put this down as coincidence, but the name, year, and approximate death date are so close that I'm wondering. Any thoughts?

You are very welcome.

Please check the 'edit' button at the top of your contributor page, just left of the 'Contributor Tools' tab. There you can see addition and correction suggestions sent to you from other contributors as well as those you have sent to others.
I sent you an edit on Dec. 5 of last year, but there has been no action on it. I thought maybe you didn't know about this new feature. I didn't until someone else told me.
There was also an edit suggestion for Amon Andrus sent the same day.

Thanks a millon for the photo!
|Bill T. Whitis||William Hugh Leanard|
Do you have any information regarding William's burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Marshall, TX? I recently finished photographing all markers in the cemetery and only found a Lorene Teresa Leanard. The church office also has no record of William, or Margaret Theresa Biller Leanard, buried here.
Any information you have would be helpful. Thank you.

I got that obituary from the funeral home. Do you need more info? I'll be glad to hunt it down if so.

Hi, Gerrie ~ no need to call cemetery as I've seen Isabell but gotta take time to get her marker cleared, which has more to do with getting a good shot than the camera. I've always used Ricohs (probably only because I won one) and Canons. At one time it said this in my FindAGrave bio, but gotta delete things from time to time so same stays more like a novella than a book ~ :^) When my friends, kids, and grandkids want to know, I either pass them an old one of mine or tell them to look on Amazon or eBay for a Canon (plus Canon has good customer service)...but the results are in taking time to (after cleaning marker if needed and possible) get multiple shots, size and edit the best ones. I would rarely post a picture that does not make me feel it's pretty good...only if nothing better was possible.
Thank you for taking time to offer kind words of support...I'll get your gramma on my next trip if the sun is in the right position!

My pleasure. I am trying to photograph ALL the headstones in this cemetery. It is taking a great deal longer than expected but it is so rewarding.

Hi Gerrie, thank you for reminding me to fix Lewis' marker now that a photo is there! (He is "Lewis White Williams" in his brother's family Bible, but he used "A" as his middle initial in census documents and deeds. When I created the memorial - before I knew what was on the stone - I just went with the Bible record.)
Elizabeth Williams Williams was recorded as being buried in the Bald Prairie Cemetery in "Cemeteries of Robertson County" (Corn/Floyd), and my mother took a photo of her stone there in the mid-1990s. (I've recently moved overseas so I don't know where it is at the moment, but I'll keep an eye out for it.) At the time it was barely a stump in the ground by their son J. Mart's grave. Have you seen a marker (or enumeration) for Elizabeth at White Rock as well? Perhaps the stone at Bald Prairie is a memorial and not a marker (or the stone at White Rock is). This is all very intriguing! :)
