I enjoy indexing cemeteries. |
I have indexed the Heards Prairie-Petteway Cemetery in Robertson Co., Texas. This is our family cemetery. I am the historian for this cemetery. Any updates, obituaries, and or corrections would be appreciated.
I have newspaper articles for the Franklin News Weekly from 1970 to present and The Bremond Press from 1997 to present.
I am trying to catalog the obituaries by the cemetery. If you have any obituaries before 1970, please let me know.
Please do not ask me to transfer a memorial if it doesn't fall within the FOUR GENERATION GUIDELINE. I am not transferring any of the families from the cemetery at the moment.
The family lines that I am looking for are:
Jones, Johnson, Jenkins, Joyce, Brantner, Brown, Yates, Ahern, Dickens, Bailey, Martin to name a few.

Where did you get the information for Wally? I have asked for a photo of his marker and they have reported they come up empty handed in trying to locate his plot and that the cematary does not show he is buried there.
My wife (LaVonne}is Wally's sister and we want to locate his grave site.
Please let me know what you can tell me.

Gerri, please remove Lake L. Black's grave as part of this cemetery. He was my father-in-law and he is buried in our family cemetery, on our land, which is located in Robertson County. I don't know where you got the information that he is buried in another county, but this is incorrect and confusing for our family members who might be searching for him.
Thank you in advance for correcting this.

Thx Gerrie for letting me know about this. My uncle Charles Davidson is buried at Petteway and we attended his funeral. On the way home we stopped at some cemeteries..the car pulls into them without us even trying!!! LOL Anyway I must have gotten this one mixed with Petteway. If you find any others just let me know and I will check on them. Thanks again. Janet

Eva/Auntie's God Son (Mike Smith) wrote it for her when she crossed over. His Mother-Eva's bestfriend kept it on her refrig up until her death now its on ours. Eva crossed over in Juanita's/bestfriend's house in Highlands. Mike Smith is a retired Harris County Deputy of 30 years. Eva/Auntie helped raise him. If you want you can transfer Eva/Auntie's findagrave to me. It would be an honor for me. We went a saw Eva/Auntie, Uncle George, and other family memebers that are buried there last Saturday.

My boyfriend is-not me. She is his God Mother. She raised him from a Baby. His name is Mike Smith. Mike's Mother Alice Juanita Dickerson Smith was Eva's best friend. He talks about Eva all the time-Mike called her Auntie. Like the story Eva/Auntie and her Parents came to Texas in a covered wagon as a small child. She had two daughters, Linda and Virginia ( sister ).

I'm responding to your January 2015 request. Ellie Price Broach Jones was my husband's great great grandmother. My husband is Malcolm Stewart, son of William (Bill) Alton Stewart and Lisa Marhenke Stewart. His grandparents were Frank Stewart and Stella Jones Stewart. They are buried in the Petteway Cemetery in Bremond, where Malcolm was raised after his father got a medical discharge from the army.

I do not know how to transfer Reginald Spiller to your site. You may do as you wish. I am a second cousin of Reginald. My brother's. Foy and Omer Keys used to hunt with Reginald and Homer. We lived in Fort Worth and my brothers loved to go to Wheelock. I visited my great aunts, Minnie and Anna Bell Spiller with my mother on many occasions My mother, Hortense Keys was the family historian. My grandmother was an Arnett. I have taken photos of all of the Arnett family cemetery.
