Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've very interested in the Civil War and I try to photograph every Civil War soldier's graves that I come across. I had relatives on both sides of that conflict. I also try to photograph temporary markers, so there is a record of person's grave. We have been so disappointed to find our family's graves unmarked. We live in Southern NJ near Philadelphia. I'm interested in the Baumbach, Diehl and Siemers families, the Nutt family of Vineland, NJ, the Lukemires/ Mires family and the Stockbridge family. Any help with these families is appreciated.
I recently found out about the Lafayette and Monument cemeteries. Monument cemetery was bought by Temple University to make way for a parking lot. The bodies were moved to Lawnview cemetery in Rockledge PA, but the grave stones were dumped in river to make the foundation for the Betsy Ross Bridge. Lafayette cemetery was located across from Pat's and Geno's Steaks in South Philly and is now a playground. The bodies from there were supposed to be moved and have grave markers but were dumped a mass grave in Bucks County. Here is an article about that http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~buckscounty/cemeteries/Bensalem/lafayette_cemetery.htm
I am horrified by the actions of Temple University and that the City of Philadelphia let these things happen. I feel badly for the families of these people.

Charles H. Whitford 94309457
Hello, I submitted an edit request to add his complete date of death. I also added a photograph of his obituary.

I came across his obit while researching the burial place of 134th NY soldiers, I had an ancestor who served in the unit.

Charles is the first soldier I've come across who served in the Mass 54th, made famous by the movie Glory.

Thanks for having created Charles's memorial.

RE: Alma Cusintine
Thank you! As you know, Eglington is almost impossible to find requests in. I forgot about the GCHS, I'll have to go and look up the others! Thanks!!!!

Alma Cusintine
Hi Amy! I have a memory test for you! I see you fulfilled a photo request for Alma Cusintine (#106993505) would you happen to remember where she is buried? There is another photo request for her marker. There are now 70+ requests for Eglington, and as you know, that cemetery is HUGE! I live very close to Eglington and spend a lot of time there looking for people on the request list. If you remember where it is, would you be able to check to see if there is a stone and retake the request, or you can let me know and I can find it. THANK YOU!!! =) Rich.

Hi Amy,
That is an interesting artist's rendering of the photo of Raymond F. Jackson. Is that small plaque at the bottom part of the actual image? I ask, because it contains the wrong year of death. It should read 1944.
