Hi, I'm Haley Amber. I am of French-Canadian descent. I can trace my family roots on my father's side as far back as the 1660's, John Cook,Sr., my 9th great grandfather, and his wife Lydia Young. My several other great grandfather's vary from Civil War Veterans, Nathaniel Cook, to Quakers. My 7th great grandfather, Daniel Cook, was a Quaker from Dover, N.H. who came to settle in Windham, Maine.|
I was introduced to history and genealogy at a young age by my father, who is very dear to me and is always my traveling buddy on our cemetery searches across Maine. Marble stones can be interesting, but we both prefer the slate stones.
Your tombstone stands among the rest, Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out...On old gray granite stone.
It reaches out to all who care...It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist...You died...and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you...In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse...Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled...One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left...Who would have loved you so.
I wonder when you lived and loved; I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot...And come and visit you."

Thank you for your memorial to my grandfather, Everett S. Bickford. I didn't see your memorial when I posted my own memorial early this year. My memorial is #137226162. I included connections to other family graves on my memorial.
If you wouldn't mind deleting your memorial #96827010, it would save my re-linking my memorial. However, if it is a problem, since you were first with the memorial, I'll be glad to delete mine and edit the one you created.
Thanks for whichever solution to our duplicate memorials you may choose. Again, thanks for posting the original memorial!

You added a picture for this memorial, I was wondering if you could add the same one to mine (138200727). I would be greatly grateful if you would..if you are unable then could i have your permission to copy it and put on myself.I would just like the first one not the second one.

Hello - I fulfilled 2 photo requests for the Kalloch memorials today. I was going to add a photo for this memorial, but the 5 photos allowed for free memorials has already reached the limit. Would you consider deleting one of your photos so a marker of the final resting place can be added?
Thanks ~ Stephanie
