Bio

I've been working on my family lines since I was a little girl and pestering my grandma with all kinds of questions. I am the mother of 6 children and 29 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. My mother-in-law gave me her records a few years ago and now I am also researching my husband's lines as well. Because of the volunteer work I do I spend what time I have left doing research. I relish the trips doing "field" work and often find myself in unusual places and far from home. Living in Texas is not close to where my ancestors lived (Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, etc.) but I do enjoy the traveling and finding new cousins.

In 2011 my husband was assigned to work in Beijing, China, four years later he was transferred to Shenzhen, China. I FOUND cousins in China! My G-grandfather's first cousin went to China in 1903 as a missionary. He and his wife adopted three daughters. Although he and his wife were forced to leave China in 1949, the daughters and their families remained. Through many miracles by the hand of God we were able to find each other. Genealogy/Family History is an activity where you can truly be close to God.
