I am a southern girl (and being 65, I use the term loosely!) who has been at this genealogy thing for many years. I love cemeteries and find them as beautiful as any park with the added bonus of beautiful markers and a 1000 stories. So naturally I love this site! I live in Savannah, Georgia so I have a lot to explore.|
I am excited to add new photos and search the site for "missing" family members!! Candace S
Family names..Morgan, Thompson, Shiver, Fulghum, Jeffers, Elder, Belford, Winterbotham, Coss to name a few......

Hey Candace! I was wondering where you got the old obits for Savannah Morning News? I may have asked you before but don't remember your response. :)

Thank you and I will let you know which photo it was. I guess I was thinking you might be a relative but I'll locate it and let you know.
I do tours of Bonaventure and we were allowed an industry tour or survey of the damage yesterday. Mostly the cypress trees snapped over but monument damage was a minimum with fencing having saved a few like Noble Jones. I'm back touring in Greenwich. It would not surprise me if Bonaventure was open to some extent end of next week. The contractor the city hired showed up a day or two early so that's the good news.

What can you say of the lovely picture? Where and did the dog have a name? What's the story? Thanks so much!

No problem at all. Family comes first. I just thought that I was bothering you too much. Keeping you in my prayers.

Where did you get the "Reports of Interments in Cathedral Cemetery"? I would like to have access/purchase these ledgers.
I certainly appreciate your bearing with me.
|JoAnn HAGANS Harris||RE: Michael Hoffler|
Am unsure if I sent you info on him so I am sending the following.
This is the info I have on him:
In addition to him being in this lot are:
Helen Lucille Reilly, Elizabeth G. Reilly, James Reilly, Elizabeth Gillen, Agatha R. Evans, Katherine Miles and Infant Reynolds.
There is a marker.
Six marbe headstones.
Savannah's Catholic Cemetery
Savannah, Chatham Co., GA
Volume I, The Old Section - "R", Lot R-9, Pate 456
Catholic Diocese of Savannah
Katherine Miles and Infant Reynolds have no markers.

The J. Joseph that I have entered (79866661) and the J. Joseph you have entered (165322599) are the same person. The proof is that you gave me more info on him, including the daughter. My entry came from Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Buried At Catholic Cemetery in Volume II Page 217 tells that he is in Lot MAG 125 on pg. 32 in Volume II. And the Lot Magnolia 125, page 32 is where you entered him, his daughter and three other people.
Now, have I totally confused you? Please accept my apology for not contacting you sooner. Just let me know when I can help you.
