Her death notice and her obit has the name as McDermott, as does her husband's Francis L. McDermott.

LEWIS FRANCIS McDERMOTT.
Widely known former hotel proprietor, a retired manager-owner at the Altamont hotel, died at 2 o’clock this morning at his home, 1705 Sixteenth street, suffering from a complication of diseases. He was born at St. Augustine, Cambria county, on Sept. 9, 1864, a son of James and Louise (McMullen) McDermott. He operated several hotels in Cambria county before coming to Altoona. Surviving are his widow, who was Marie A. Burgoon; a son, Augustine McDermott of Pensacola, Fla., and a daughter, Mrs. N. L. McCombie of Altoona, and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A brother, Alonzo McDermott of Cresson, also survives. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Friends will be received at the E. W. Jones funeral home after 12 o’clock noon Tuesday.

MRS. MARIA A. McDERMOTT
Died at the home of a granddaughter, Miss Lois S. McCombie of 16 West Fourth street, Lewistown, at 7 o’clock last evening. She was born in Cambria county June 21, 1864, a daughter of Lewis and Mary Jane (Watt) Burgoyne [Burgoon]. Her husband, Lewis F. McDermott, who died August, 1939, formerly managed the Altamont hotel in Altoona. Surviving are one son and one daughter, Augustine A. of Warrington, Fla., and Mrs. L. McCombie of Lewistown; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Jones funeral home after 7 o’clock Saturday evening.

No, I don't mind you're asking. I have just over 41, 000 people in my database and I like to have documentation on all their vital information including burials. I find burials are also good leads to other family members.
