Bio Photo If you'd like me to transfer management of one of your family members' memorials, I would be happy to do so. Please use the edit tab at the top right of the memorial page in question, then select the "suggest any other correction or addition" option. Type in your request including YOUR FAG number, and I will take care of your transfer. Use this same method if you want info and/or corrections made to the memorial. Also please include YOUR FAG# in your message so I don't have to look it up.

I apologize if a photo is bad. Sometimes it's the weather, positioning of the sun, or just a weathered headstone that has worn down over time and it IS as bad as the photo depicts. I don't mind if you think you need another try at the picture. Submit a photo request and either I or someone else will try to get a better one.

Also if you'd like a headstone picture removed or added from one of my memorials, let me know.

I normally do not post headstone pictures that include pictures of living people or children who have died post 1990 unless requested. On those - I probably already have the photo in my files and will post it if requested to do so by a family member.

RE: Alva and Herbert
Just heard back from the cemetery. She said that they don't remove stones, even if they are badly damaged, but these would be newer anyhow. She said she had no record of headstones for either of them, just ashes in the grave.

Alva and Herbert
just heard from the cemetery. Alva and Hubert are buried in those graves and were ashes (just like the babies). It looks like they did not get a headstone?

I'll go back one day next week and make sure, but I did notice a grassy spot that could have been graves with no headstone. Who do they belong to as there appears to be two distinct Smoyer families there... plus that "extra".

I'm going to tag them as not there, but will keep working with you on this. There is a huge tree right in the middle of the section. Are the betz's related to these folks? I could cruise thru that section and see if there's a stone there for them.

RE: John and mary family
yep, that "mystery grave" was odd, but clearly inside the confines of the Smoyer area. I did not know the Betz were part of your family there are a ton of them around.

I bet you will find out that that Foster baby had some loose connection with the family...like a good friend or co-worker. Baby died and they had to bury it and the smoyers had several plots (there are 4 together)... so, why not?

I put a call into the cemetery on the toerh smoyers you asked for. Would you happen to have a plot number? I'll keep you posted.

John and mary family
I tacked the photo of the John and Mary and Kids plots to Mary. The odd shaped stone is that mystery stone. As you can see, It does appear to be part of that grouping. Perhaps it was a grandbaby?

Baby Smoyers
Found the two baby girls. There was already a photo for William Lewis Smoyer (also a tot) posted, but you could not make out the names, so I posted another.

Alva and Herbert were not with the other smoyers, so I just sent a note to the cemetery to see where they are.

I did find a few oddities... like the top of Margaret Jean's stone says "PET"??? Also found another stone in that area and added it to Find A Grave since it was not there. Not sure if it's family or not, but clearly witin the confines of the Smoyer Gravesite. "Mary, daughter of Amos and Florence Foster. B: Sept 17, 1928 D: December 16, 1929".

If that is one of yours I can transfer them to you.

I also took a photo of the whole site. If you send me an email address, I can email that to you as well (or post it to one of the family).

baby smoyers
hey,
I contacted the cemetery and the Smoyers I found were in A21. The babies are in A104 and A105. I will try to get back there this week and find the babies.

You might want to change the grave numbers on Carrie, John and Raymond Smoyer to A21.

Stay tuned....

RE: Sarah King
no problem, I figure if I'm taking photos of some of the folks, I may as well get them all in the locale. I went for a walk one day and snapped photos of all the old stones that were readable in St Marks Cemetery. I figure they won't be around long.

Also, what I neglected to say in all the king stuff is that the two king lists on the stone are actually on two sides of the same monument.

Let me know if there's any others you need. Seems like you have a bunch there. I did notice that Worthington, Wilkinson and Smoyers all have that little name tag on the plots. Figured there was some relation since they were also pretty near each other.
