I think it is important to document family history on the internet because it will be available to others for years to come. I think Find-A-Grave is an excellent site because it is free, and because it allows you to post photos of a person even though you may not be the manager of that person's record. I post my email here with undrscores to thwart internet crawler bots. Just omit the underscores to get my email address. j_h_e_a_r_n_1_0_0_0_@_g_m_a_i_l_._c_o_m|

|Karen M. Freeman||WAKE FOREST CEMETERY|
Karen Freeman, again...
I re-visited Wake Forest Cemetery Find A Grave and the Memorial pages for my Dodd relatives after I sent my recent transfer request to you. I was thrilled to see James Mangum's name there as now Maintaining the pages...so please disregard my request for those at Wake Forest; however,
please still consider the 2 at Montlawn & Martha Caroline Green Connelly at the Green Family Cemetery in Harnett County, NC.
|Karen M. Freeman||MONTLAWN & GREEN FAMILY CEMETERY, NC|
This is Karen Freeman in Cherry Log, GA. We have been in contact recently about the Wake Forest Cemetery and the gravesites of my Aunt Margaret Eliz. 'Lib' Green Dodd, husband Carey Newkirk Dodd and daughter Francina Newkirk Dodd O'Hara. I know you have a personal connection to them as their neighbor; but would you consider transferring the maintenance of their Memorial pages to me? If so, I will supply you with their Memorial numbers.
You also maintain the three (3) Memorial pages of my maternal grandfather - WILLARD MOSS CONNELLY, # 115422843 and maternal aunt - PATRICIA 'Pat' ELMORE CONNELLY, # 115422865; both buried at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh, Wake, NC and my maternal grandmother - MARTHA CAROLINE GREEN CONNELLY, # 116196115, buried in the Green Family Cemetery in Lillington (Buies Creek), Harnett Co, NC.
Will you please consider transferring the Maintenance of the 3 Memorial pages to me to maintain going forward?
Thank you for your consideration,
Karen Elizabeth Milner Freeman
(I was named for my Aunt Elizabeth 'Lib' Green Dodd)
Cherry Log, GA
|James Mangum||James Nathaniel Barrow|
Hi my name is James Mangum and my Great Uncle Nat's page I see you maintain. I though it might be worth mentioning on his page that he was a Prisoner of War held by the Germans during the Second World War. He was the tail gunner of a B-17 when they were shot down over enemy lines. He and two other men made it out alive but were almost starved to death by the Germans. They were released at the end of the war. My memories of him were him telling me and my sister the stories and showing us the pictures and medals. I will try to talk to my Aunt Harriet About finding a picture of him in his flight jacket. Very interesting man.

Thank you for pointing out the link to her mother. I also corrected the spelling of the name Ceasar for her spouses memorial.

Thanks for the information on John Franklin Brower. His mother's maiden name, like my own mother's, is Kime. And he would be something like my 3rd cousin, 3x removed. Seeing as he's your GG grandfather, I'm happy to transfer his memorial to you.

Oh, you are most welcome. Thanks for letting me know. Hope you have a great day!

Thanks for the correction

Thanks so much for the correction and information for links to her mother and father. I made all the suggested changes.

My husband and I are in the process of trying to systematically photograph the entire Wake Forest Cemetery. We have taken many photos there over a few years but now we're trying to ensure no stones get overlooked. Since our cameras are better now than the ones we had before, sometimes we're deleting old photos and adding what we think are better ones to memorials. If there are any folks you want us to keep a special lookout for as we do this, please let me know.
|stephen ||Doctor F. Murphy|
I think I hit the mother load. Dock Murphey's name was Doctor (Dock) Franklin Jauid Murphy, born 19 Feb 1837 - died 23 June 1896. U. S, War Dept application for a headstone. Headstone delivered to G. W. Murphy. Dock was buried in the "Family Burying Ground. Now if we could figure out where that is we would be able to find Doc. Dock's grand-father was John Stallings buried in the Stallings family cemetery in Cedar Rock and I had a suspicion he was buried there, but there is no headstone for Doc there. Any ideas?
