My interest of documenting cemeteries began with a request to help on an Eagle Scout project in 2001. |
Since I love creating and working with databases, digital photography and genealogy, what better combination!
I've documented many Howard Co. Indiana and Montclam Co. Michigan cemeteries with thousands of tombstone photos. My largest contributions are Arlington National Cemetery and Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.
I love Find A Grave and I especially enjoy adding photos to memorials so that family members can visit their family member's grave at anytime. However, I ask that you respect my efforts. Please, do NOT copy my photos to ancestry.com without giving me credit. Simply indicate "© 2001-2016 John C Anderson on Find A Grave". I'd appreciate a note letting me know you have copied them. However, do NOT post them to other Find A Grave memorials. Just let me know and I will upload them. Use for commercial purposes is not allowed under any circumstances. However, it is okay with me for you to post my photos of your friends and families headstones on Facebook as long as you link it back to the Find A Grave memorial. You may use my photos on your own personal website if non-commercial, but photo credit is again appreciated.
This love of documenting cemeteries has led to the formation of Instone Data Solutions, a company used by government agencies and others to digitize their old cemetery paper records.
I'm more than happy to make corrections and add relationship links to other memorials.
ALL REQUESTS FOR corrections, additional information, or transfers: PLEASE do so with the Suggest A Correction (SAC) link on the memorial for that person. [Most memorials will have an 'Edit' tab on the upper right side of the memorial. Click on the 'Edit' tab, then click on the 'Suggest a correction' link on the Edit page.]
PLEASE NOTE: I'm very grateful for corrections and additional information, but I'm receiving 75-100 a day and cannot reply to everyone. Please check back to ensure accuracy of memorial page updates.
Please be assured I do most updates, corrections and links (via SAC, email or message) within a day. Guidelines do suggest a member send no more than 20 per week to a single contributor but have no problem with receiving as many as needed to get the objective accomplished - which is getting memorials, and the cemeteries, as accurate and complete as humanly possible.

|Cindy Lynch Russell||transfer of memorials|
Thank you for all of your hard work to allow so many of us to see and find our family members.
I was wondering if you wouldn't mind if I could have ownership of the memorials for Ada Dean (# 49227046) and her husband Charles Dean (# 49227055). They are my husbands great aunt and uncle.
|Christopher Minshall||Memorial Transfer|
First, thank you for creating the memorials for my maternal grandparents, Wendell Ivan Horrigan (49207348) and Betty Jane [West] Horrigan (49207344). Would you consider transferring control of their memorials to me?
Thank you again,
|John Sharkey||Forrest Family Memorials|
Thanks Jon for making all the edits to the Forrest family. Your work is very much appreciated. Thanks! John Sharkey
|Barbara Proko||Thank you!|
For the transfer of the Walter and Marie Ruscik memorials. I appreciate it!
|Barbara Proko||#49306409 Marie Ruscik transfer request|
I would like to request the transfer of memorial #49306409 for Marie Ruscik. She was my cousin's wife. Thank you very much for your work here!
|Barbara Proko||#49306410 Ruscik transfer request|
I would very much appreciate the transfer of memorial #49306410, Walter L. Ruscik. He was my cousin. Thank you for all your fine efforts.
John - Thanks for the edits to this memorial. Found info in newspaper clipping of my parents. Other surnames in clip are Short and Voorhies. Don't know why they saved it or how they knew her.
It needs just one more little thing - a capital letter. Sorry. Thanks in advance.

|Ron Carroll||Eliza Jane Bayne Farris (Memorial # 45936257)|
The memorial for Eliza Jane Bayne Farris (Memorial # 45936257) reads "Married William F. Farris January 31, 1861 in Platte County, Missouri.", while she has a birth year of 1853. Obviously, that combination cannot be correct.
Based on the name of her son, I think this may be Eliza Jane Craig, who married Benjamin Franklin Farris circa 1874.
|xray gypsy||Moore Mcbrides please|
Thanks to you and your efforts in Montcalm County I just found my great great grand parents.
They were David F Moore and his wife Laura E Moore and are buried in Mcbrides cemetary in Mcbrides Michigan.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any further information about Mcbrides cemetary.
There are several Moores buried there and I suspect I am blood to bost of them.
