Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Northern Indiana and am very interested in the Civil War. One of my hobbies is to visit the graves of Indiana Civil War Soldiers. To date my dad and I have visited over 1,860 cemeteries and have found the gravesites of over 36,300 Indiana Soldiers, as well as some 8,400 soldiers from states other than Indiana. We have also located the gravesites of over 1,700 Confederate soldiers buried in the Hoosier state. I am also trying to find the gravesites of all of Indiana's Civil War Colonels. I am also interested in the 8th Indiana Infantry, Company I, and the 12th Indiana Infantry. I am also looking for every Chaplain that served in an Indiana Regiment in the Civil War. If you know of any gravesites you think I may have missed, or have some interesting information, don't hesitate to contact me. I am also working on a book about Indiana's soldiers that died during the Civil War. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if you are looking for a Hoosier that served in the civil war send me an e-mail and I'll see if I can help in any way. Currently, I'm also trying to locate every Civil War veteran in Kosciusko County, Indiana, and upload them to Find-A-Grave. I am also a Christian, and look forward to life after the grave. Thanks.

Richard Jewell Cox
You posted a picture of Richard and his wife. Are you related to them? Also, did the original picture show the other people and what their names were? Do you other pictures of the Cox family members? Richard was a brother to my great grandfather, John Preston.

Yet another question
Hi Eric. I have a question about a soldier whose headstone has Co. H 2nd Batt. PA Vol. I searched the Co. H rosters of the Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Artillery and Cavalry with no luck. His name was John D. McLaren. Can you help?

RE: Melvin Ballard
His wife was my Sunday School teacher at Danville Church of the Nazarene in the 1960s. I did not know that until I was uploading the photos and I noticed the logo on the stone.

I am always glad to do requests but this one was special for me.

RE: George Clayton
It was the first time for me at Macedonia cemetery. Now I know what time to NOT go. I will take better photo's of his marker when I go back. He deserves it. What a hero he was.

Another question for you
Hi Eric. I am working up a bio for a man who enlisted with Co. D of the 73rd Reg. of the Ind Inf. on 16 Aug 1862 and who deserted a few months later on 15 Dec 1862. Later in life he was granted an invalid's pension. Can you explain how this was allowed? --Kim
