|Bio and Links|
San Diego has some of the best Find a Grave contributors who are doing an amazing job of documenting our local cemeteries. If you need a grave photo there is no shortage photo volunteers. If you are looking for an obituary, cemetery information or advice we have volunteers happy to help you. |
If you are new to Find a Grave and want to start contributing in the San Diego area please read the FAQs or reach out to someone with your questions.
Please always do a search before creating a new memorial
Links, Corrections and additional information
Please use the edit tab and I will be happy to make corrections, add links and additional information. Do not leave information you want added on this page.
Note: Abstracted lists (such as census, death index, etc.) should be formulated into complete sentences prior to submitting for addition to the bio.
Copy-and-paste census, military and other data is not a "bio". Please don't send these type of bios because they will not be added.
This is Find-a-Grave, we find graves, so please, if the memorial doesn't have a grave photo, request one prior to asking for a transfer.
I'm pretty liberal when it comes to transfers, however too many times I have transferred and nothing is added or changed. So if you want a transfer, please:
1. Post any family photos (if you have them)
2. Provide me with family links and biographical information you wish to add to the memorial.
3. Tell me your exact relationship
I will not make a transfer if you create excessive memorials with unknown burial locations.
Please be a Find a Grave contributor, not just a collector of someone else's work
✔ PLEASE NOTE!!! Do not move your Burial Unknown into the correct cemetery based on the information you found from my memorial & then demand that I delete my duplicate.

It is done
I was wondering if you could please transfer John Osborn memorial over to 48718331. He is my 6th Great Grandfather. He was born in Hanover,New York and died in San Diego. Thank you. Calvin Rodgers

Thanks for transferring the Hattie Elbers memorial to me. Would you also transfer the one for her husband (my grandfather), Edward Fielding Clarke? Thanks!
I've done a bit of tweaking for Hattie Elbers, but the posting of a bio will have to wait until I can clarify other information about her.
|R Scanland||RE: Hattie Clarke|
Sorry about the incorrect entering of Hattie Clarke's surname. I just did find that rule (I'm still learning how to submit corrections and biographical sketches for memorials) and will submit a revised biographical sketch that explains her marriages properly.
Today I received a no-reply message from Find A Grave saying that Hattie's biographical sketch was not accepted because I didn't enter it in the correct field. However, I'm unable to find a place on the Edit page that either says "Biographical sketch" or points a person to the biographical sketch option. That question isn't covered in the FAQ page, so it looks like I should ask you to disregard Hattie Clark's bio until I can get that question answered -- and also find out how to send a private message to managers of memorials. I realize that this message should have been sent privately. This question too isn't covered in the FAQ.
|R Scanland||Two corrections for bio of Hattie Elbers Clarke|
After sending you this bio last night, I found an omission and a typo:
1.The third sentence should read as follows (added info is in all caps):
She was the daughter of Lucas "Father" Elbers AND ELLEN WIDORET, both of whom were born in Hannover, Germany according to her birth certificate.
2. The third paragraph should start with Hattie, not Hattied.
I apologize for not having resolved the marriage record problem mentioned in her bio. Due to family health issues, I can do research only intermittently and am spending most of my genealogy time preserving what I already have.
Thanks for your great work at Find A Grave!

Oh yeah I forgot, I did get the Decoursey file, Thanks.

I don't know for sure that Sarah was Jane's mother but I suspect she was. I believe the person who has the memorial has the wrong death certificate. I have always shown Sarah's birth year as 1771. I hadn't looked at the Peake memorials but I will later this evening.
Hello! My name is Rebecca Burton. Thank for creating pages for my grandparents, Beulah (112055252) and Bernard (112054612) Burton. I added the photo of them together. My father Kenneth (10591271) was their son. I read your stance on transfers and was hoping you'd be kind enough to let me take over. I've been with find a grave since 2005 when I created the one for my Dad. Promise to take good care of them. :)
