Bio and Links
Bio Photo This is the officially authorized Contributor Page of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. We have joined as a contributor so that we can create and oversee a repository for memorials of Union Veterans who are not already managed by other Find-A-Grave contributors. We appreciate and welcome transfers from anyone who desires to place a memorial to a Union Veteran in our care.

We also welcome any biographical information that other contributors might wish to send us concerning the memorials in our care.

We will transfer memorials to other contributors in accordance with Find-A-Grave guidelines and are willing to consider the transfer of any particular memorial to any relative of that deceased soldier. If you wish us to transfer a memorial to you, send us a request through the Edit feature on the memorial you wish to acquire with an explanation of how you are related to the deceased veteran and why you desire a transfer. We reserve the right to deny requested transfers that are outside of Find-A-Grave guidelines for any reason.

If YOU are a member of the SUVCW or its allied orders and are interested in helping us with this project, we would appreciate receiving an email from you.

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a fraternal organization dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of heroes who fought and worked to save the Union. Organized in 1881 and chartered by Congress in 1954, we are the legal successor to the Grand Army of the Republic.

Memorial Transfers to SUVCW
Hello SUVCW;
I've got about 2 dozen memorials for soldiers who served in the 20th Maine Infantry/Company H that I'd like to transfer over to you for your project and have you care for them. What is the procedure? Do you need a list of them first or other means of identification, etc?

Regards, Scott Walker

Thanks for Wisconsin Infantry info. If you'd like to manage Memorial# 125551233 - just ask, as I'd be happy to transfer. If you have ANY knowledge of who to link him to, and/or who to link to him, kindly advise!

Spanish American War
RE: SAW Veteran Find-A-Grave Memorials
If you don't consider the memorials relevant to the SUVCW, yes, please transfer SAW veterans. We are mindful that there are veterans who served in both wars (e.g., Joe Wheeler and Fitzhugh Lee on the CSA side, Nelson A. Miles and William R. Shafter on the GAR side). We would like to one day see nearly all SAW veterans listed on our virtual cemeteries (we only have a few hundred thousand to go). Thanks for your offer.
