Bio Photo Willing to take pictures of tombstones in local area.....just write and ask me if you notice any corrections that I need to make. If you are a family member of someone I have added and you would like me to transfer the memorial to you, let me know and I will gladly do so.

Also, whenever I take a tombstone picture, if there are others around or near with the same name or if they appear to be related I take them too and post. So if you request a tombstone pic be sure to check for others that you might not have been aware of.

Lastly, let me say, that it is because of my mentor and cohort that I even got started on Find A Grave. It is Barbara Jensen (Robinette #47025656) that introduced me to this and we usually both go to the cemeteries and post the pics we have taken. We are a team. So all the thanks my profile get is for the team.

Memorial# 120816320Jhn Robertson, Jr
I am wondering why you added the "Jr" when it's not on the headstone. I am thinking it's the John Robertson I am looking at but his father was Thomas. He is the only John Robertson on the 1850 census for Nelson County that is the right age. Thanks, Janice

Jemima Elrod Howard

Doing research on Elrod family (husbands grandmother was an Elrod). I got family records with the Jenina Elrod married to John Howard and her parents as William Elrod (1787) and Rhoda Roxanna McCoy (McKay) (1792).

Might be asking a question that you have no knowledge, but there is so much info on this generation in Find A Grave...Trying to find someone who might know if there is a second wife with name of Rhoda. I can't link J. Howard with Sandra M. Huffman.

Thanks for any help,
bobbie scott

Robert, this person is Mary Elizabeth Garrett,
1 May 1828-6 Aug 1894. She was the daughter of Jesse Garrett Jr. and Susan E. "Sally" Matthews.
The Jesse Garrett Bible record states that his daughter married Thomas Oldham 15 Mar 1849.

Please email me if you need more info....

Robert -

This is nicely done, but I have the following comments:

Grave 26582060 is a duplicate that should be removed. However, it does have a good photo of Samuel Lander's gravestone that should be moved to your entry. The gravestone photo shows that his date of birth is the 30th rather than the 20th of January 1833.

Since this Samuel Lander was the son of another Samuel Lander, I should also mention that his full name was Samuel Lander, 2nd

I am one of the great grandchildren of Samuel Lander. My mother was Suzanne Lander Stone who is buried in this same cemetery. She was a grand-daughter of Samuel Lander.

Thank you for the photos of my sweet great grandparents, William Ira Edwards and Nannie B. Edwards from Sardis Baptist cemetery #2. Nannie's looks like a mistake was made on tombstone. Mammie was changed to her real name, Nannie., but Mammie is still visible? Thanks again! Peggy Reynolds

RE: Question
So that's what it is! I've seen a lot of this, and not just in Northview. Some of the churches in Hart Co. did have the tombstones professionally cleaned, I'm surprised the city didn't have the stones in Northview done at the same time. I'm not sure I like the way the stones look after cleaning, it takes away the "age" from the stone, which, to me, is part of the aura of a cemetery. But these flat stones that are mildewed/molded do need cleaning, badly.

Why do so many of the stones in Northview Cem. have black splotches on them? One can barely read the dates. Have they been sprayed with black paint? Vandalism?

Re: Georgia Hall # 80463316
Joel and Georgia (Vernon) Hall had 11 children that I know of and they all lived to adulthood. Perhaps these three children (B. C., Louisa and Walter) were also their children but I didn't find them in any census records for Joel & Georgia. I can't link them without more information but I will note on the memorials that these children are buried in the same plot. - Bobbie

William H. Smith # 84590318
Hi, Robert.
You sent the following: "Because he is beside Miles Smith in the same plot, I believe that: He was the son of William Henry and Dinah Elizabeth (Sanders) Smith.).
William Henry & Dinah Elizabeth had a son named William Luther but he was born in 1895. I think this William was most probably the son of Miles Walter Smith but I don't have any proof for this so I can't link them as such. Miles had a son named Haskell that I can't find anything on, so maybe this is William Haskell Smith. But as I said, I can't link them on this alone. - Bobbie

RE: Northview Cemetery
Robert...Thank you for all the photos you have added to the memorials in Northview City Cemetery. You and your friend have done a fantastic job; the photos are professional quality and the links you have provided along with the photos have been a great help in connecting the families. I do appreciate it, very much.

I do have a couple of memorials in that cemetery that I have some questions about, but I can't recall, offhand, who they were. I'll give this some thought and if I can remember who they were, I'll see if you can shed some light on the problem.

Thanks again for all your hard work; doing this when the temperature is in the 90's couldn't have been easy. You've done a very outstanding, thorough job. - Bobbie
