Genealogy helps restore the many pieces of the puzzle regarding family connections. Life is defined by the dash between our birth and the time we go to meet our Heavenly Father God. |
I am interested in the "dashes" between my ancestors' birth and death beginning with those who came in the mid 1600s - 1700s: The William White family, who came on the first Mayflower voyage and settled in Plymouth, MA. Then the line of families including: Wheeler and Rowe, who first settled in Massachusetts, Brainerd-Brainard from England who settled in Connecticut, Collins who settle on Governor Sprague's property in Rhode Island. The Nicol family from Scotland who settled in St. Lawrence County, Hammond, New York and then settled in Iowa, also the Quaker families of Knowles and Wilber (from NY to Iowa). The Peckenpaughs and Steibers from Germany and then those who came in the 1800s and settled in Wisconsin, Iowa and South Dakota - Childs from England, Steiber from Prussia, Nold from Switzerland, Reiersons and Houge/Hauges from Norway, and Nicholas from Wales; Lastly those who came in 1898...from Denmark namely Christensen and Walther side and Nelsens who settled in SD and later in ND and those from Sweden, Larsson, Nelson, and Carlson families who settled in Big Stone Co. Minnesota and later in Ward County, North Dakota.

I see you have Steiber's in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Lincoln, SD.
I have walked the Mount Zion cemetery and have not seen a Steiber buried there. I could have missed it or the stones could be missing, but Riverside cemetery is closer to Centerville. Riverside Cemetery is much larger cemetery.

You're very welcome, Evelyn!
We knew David and Carolyn. When we moved to Beach, Carolyn was one of the first to stop by the house to welcome us.

Hi Evelyn, I added another photo to Lucy's memorial that is more readable. I watered the marker on my last visit. I deleted my first photo that was hard to read because of the granite color and the sun, then re-added it; therefore, the same upload date. Loretta

You are very welcome, I enjoyed doing it for you. Grew up in the Texas Panhandle :-)

Do you know what Lottie Eastman looks like? Do you have any photos of her?
Can you take a look at the photo I have posted of her on the memorial?
I purchased this photo on eBay, and it was identified as Lottie Eastman, or appears to say Lottie Eastman on the back of the photo. I am not sure if it is her. If it isn't, please let me know and I can remove the photos.

I noticed that there are two memorials created for this person. Find A Grave only wants one memorial per person. So I have asked administration to delete one. I can't do this myself since Marjorie created it. Left will be the one that you have control of already. Thanks. ~T Burt

Evelyn - Henry is my great-great grandfather, buried about 5 miles from where I grew up, and his daughter Eliza Lambert Pollard is my great-grandmother, buried about a 1 mile from where I grew up. How are you related? I would love to add more family history if you have it available.
