I became interested in genealogy about six years ago when I entered the name of one of my great-grandfathers in a free genealogy search engine. I hit 'search' and up came many names I was familiar with and some I wasn't! I was hooked! |
At that time I knew basically what most people know about their ancestors--the names of my grandparents and the names of some of my great-grandparents.
Since then I've acquired a lot more knowledge about the people who lived before me. It's like being a detective, and it's so exciting to uncover a tiny little piece to the puzzle! I want to know who they were and what they did because they are my past and I am a product of the decisions they made. I still consider myself a beginner because I'm still searching!

Are you related to John M. and Margaret Rackley Treadwell - Memorial # 7359891? I have a list of their children from Ancestry.com that I cannot verify. One they list is Ellen Treadwell. I found her marriage to W. E. Godfrey 9 Mar 1902 in Witt Springs (near Pope County, AR). Her Find a Grave Memorial #35403033 doesn't have parents listed. Do you have a complete list of Margaret and John's kids? These are my kids great grandparents.

Everything seems to stop with my Grandfather. All I know is what my mother has told me. I don't even know his mother's name. All I know is that she was of German decent. My Grandfather knew how to speak German and taught it to my older brother and sisters. I never knew him. He had passed about 14 years before I was born. He had black hair and black eyes, Grandma had blonde hair and blue eyes, but my mother had red hair and green eyes.

I have plenty on Verda McAnulty/McGee. I have her family quite a ways back to Scotland and Ireland. It is my Grandfather that I can find nothing about. I have no idea what his father's name was. When I had asked my mother what her grandfather's name was, she told me that she could not remember because he was dead by the time she was born, but everyone said he had red hair.

Hello...many long years have gone by. Our computer broke down many years ago, and I have been looking for your particular posts on the McAnulty family again. Ok...so...as you can see I have a new email. My Grandmother was Verda McAnulty/McGee. Her husband William McAnulty, is the one that I am trying to find the family. He had a son named William too, but that was my Uncle William Raymond. If you have any information on the family of William McAnulty Sr. I would appreciate it. I can't find anything...smiles.

Martha Ellen Duvall Turner
I have been informed that the memorial I created #36776561 for Ellen Duvall Turner is a duplicate. I created mine in 2009 and you created yours in 2007. By rights, since you did create yours first, it should be yours. I will gladly delete mine but first I need to know if this person is family to you.
Also, I hate to delete mine since it has a picture of the gravestone.
Looking to hear from you.
Carolyn Hargrove Hooten
I cannot delete as I transferred awhile back. You can delete yours and add your photograph to the original one.

Sorry to say this, but I have been informed that the memorial for Ellen Duvall Turner is a duplicate, but I cannot delete it since you are the original contributor. You graciously transferred it to me some years ago, but, I too, did not realize it was a duplicate.
Please delete: Find A Grave memorial #36776561 which is a duplicate of the one for Martha Ellen Duvall Turner. Many thanks, and my apologies. ~Linda

Hi, Carolyn. It has been a long time since you took the beautiful photos, but is it possible for you to remember the two stones on this memorial. The one is so lovely but the one is just like his wife's. Can you shed some light on the two stones for Frank. If not don't feel bad, I love your photos and will assume the family didn't like the first one. Thanks for the use of your brain. Kaye
