Most of my paternal ancestors settled in Randolph, Wayne, Henry & Delaware counties, Indiana. Have many Quaker ancestors from the early colonial period through the Civil War period on this side of the family. My maternal ancestry is from Cocke county, Tennessee and also Haywood & Buncombe counties, North Carolina. Almost all my ancestors came to the United States in the very early colonial period, fought in the American Revolution, and advanced west with the growth of the country.

A few of my ancestral surnames: Conyers, Seagrave, Sutherland (also Southerland), Rich, Kendrick, Blackwell, Fine, Harris, Denton, Hiatt, Current, Lewellen (various spellings), Starbuck, Mills, Mulford.

Kendrick
Thanks for getting back with me. I do understand papers being put away. No hurry, or no problem if you don't get to them.

In 1875, William and Matilda Story's children sold their land to William A. Robinson. In description, it mentions the land being known as the old Kendrick land. Trying to find out of what Kendrick
this parcel belonged to. Was it part of Roadman Cem. or how close to it, it lies.

William Robinson sold part of land to Elbert Cureton in 1878.

I do know that William Robison married one of Edom Kendricks daughters, Mary Polly. Also that William and their son William A Robinson is buried in Roadman Cem.

Thanks for your time, Susan

Story-Kendrick
Haven't heard back from you. Thought I'd check in with you.

I didn't ask in the last message to you: What were you thoughts on the Jane Story living with Edom Jr. in 1850?

I have not sent off for copies of Edom's or wife, land records, will, ect....
I was hoping to come up with Mothers maiden name info first, off Sarah Story, Allison's death record. But it appears there isn't one.

Do you have any copies of Edom's? Is any of the Story family mentioned? I do know Matilda Story died before him. So maybe her children mentioned?

Story
Thanks for getting back with me. Good to hear from you.

Edom Jr. would be the father.

James Story purchased land Cocke Co. 4 times 1816 - 1823. No more found on him.

Thomas Story and family on 1830 & 1840 Cocke Co. census. Name is on William C. Story land record, as neighbor. No more found

William C. Story, d: 1854, my family line, on 1830 - 1850 Cocke Co. census
1850 with wife Matilda d: 1860 and seven children. One being Jane.
12 land transactions. Edom Kendrick, Peter Fine Kendrick neighbors

1850 census, Edom Kendrick and wife Elizabeth, have a Jane Story, living with them. Is this the same Jane??

Two of William C. Story and Matilda (Malinda) dau's died in Arkansas, maybe three. One haven't located since Maury Co. Tenn. 1880, widowed. One in Texas. Their sons I haven't located anything on since civil war.
One dau. lived long enough to have a death record. But it appears one wasn't made. Haven't been able to locate it.

Have looked for link to other Story families, Giles Co. ect...
None found yet.

Any info you could help me on. Would be very much appreciated.

Story
Thank you very much for the info you have. William C. Story and wife Matida, was a neighbor to Kendrick. Some researchers believe Matida was Edom Kendrick dau. Looks to be, but I have yet to find the proof. We do have copies of land transactions. There was also a James Story since 1812 living there. Father or brother? Still looking for proof.
I was hoping to find their burials. And those of William and Matilda sons. Thank you for your time. I'll keep looking.

All Saints Columbarium
I am a member of the congregation, having been confirmed there in '92. I am active there at present, and my cemetery page has been approved. While I would be willing to add some details to Mary's memorial (as I knew her also) I'm not sure about the cemetery page.

Would you mind corresponding via email? Please email me at texasbunger@yahoo.com

I can't wait to know what else you might have. I would love to see those articles. Probably from the Pal-Item paper in Richmond. My dad had a couple articles in that paper for his service.

Thanks for the information and look forward to your email.
