Bio and Links
Born in Harlan County, Kentucky October 19, 1933.
The son of Hugh Hill and Bertha (Lemarr) Lansden.
When my father was killed in a coal mine accident 1938 in Harlan County,Kentucky Mother returned to Knoxville, Tennessee where her parents resided.I got interested in genealogy when approaching retirement.I worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority for twenty five (25) years and changed career paths. I was offered a job as an international representative for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, a position I truly enjoyed for the next thirty (30) years. I retired from the IBEW as an International Vice President in 2003.The position's I held required condiderable traveling which also provided an opportunity to do genealogy research around the United States. I have discovered lots about the Lansden's and related families which otherwise I would have never known. I encourage youngsters to ask family questions while they are young, as accurate answers are much easier to obtain at that time.
If, I can assist anyone in their research I'll be delighted to do so. It has been such an enjoyment researching and obtaining support and assistance from others during my journey.

Duplicate Memorial
Mr. Lansden, Can you delete the memorial you added for my Uncle Buford, #65044814? There was already a memorial page for him that was added in 2010 by one of my cousins.
Maybe you could transfer the picture that was posted on yours to the one my cousin did.
Thank you.
Betty Peyton,

duplicate entry for Long
Your entry #99302795 is a duplicate for mine #74617773 for Ursula Belle McCuctheon Long. I had entered this about a year before yours. Did you see her grave in the cemetery? She is the sister of my great grandmother. I have Belle linked to her husband and 3 children. The info if from her KY death record and other sources.

Hi, Carl,
I am trying to separate information about two William H Winsteads, so am trying to locate valid information about each of them. You contributed a photo of one of the tombstones for one, the one married to the two Sarahs. This may just be a stone you photographed, and maybe you're not related to this family, but if you are, do you have any insight on why the tombstone says he was born and died 1884-1886? Was this a mistake on the husband's stone, or was the mother buried by a baby who died?
