Bio and Links
Born in Harlan County, Kentucky October 19, 1933.
The son of Hugh Hill and Bertha (Lemarr) Lansden.
When my father was killed in a coal mine accident 1938 in Harlan County,Kentucky Mother returned to Knoxville, Tennessee where her parents resided.I got interested in genealogy when approaching retirement.I worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority for twenty five (25) years and changed career paths. I was offered a job as an international representative for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, a position I truly enjoyed for the next thirty (30) years. I retired from the IBEW as an International Vice President in 2003.The position's I held required condiderable traveling which also provided an opportunity to do genealogy research around the United States. I have discovered lots about the Lansden's and related families which otherwise I would have never known. I encourage youngsters to ask family questions while they are young, as accurate answers are much easier to obtain at that time.
If, I can assist anyone in their research I'll be delighted to do so. It has been such an enjoyment researching and obtaining support and assistance from others during my journey.

Wondering if Clyde Low's father Robert Low (b. 1865)who married Rachel Susan Lansden are related in any way to you.
Two of Ira Bankson's sisters (Laura Ann & Mary Adeline) married James G. Lansden(1853-1933), who's father was Ellsworth M. Lansden(1815-1873).
Thank you for any information.

Elisha/Elizah Allen Walker
Carl, Can you tell me where you found his name spelled Elizah? So far in my research, I found it as Elisha Allen Walker. It is also on his headstone spelled that way. I know in census records the names were spelled by people who used the "normal" spelling sometimes, but I've never seen it this way. I appreciate all the information you sent...just want to get it right for my family tree and the memorial. Thanks, Cindy
