Find A Grave Memorial# 17743429
Hi CB!

When I send the email backup to justify the edits I am sending to a memorial owner to process on their edit tab, I certainly don't expect the contents of those email messages to be used by the recipient as their own research material or posted publicly on a memorial without the proper attribution?

As far as I know, I'm the only person who has discovered the mystery of the elusive "Nancy" Warner that married Nathan Dexter.

I don't know how other people feel about it, but as far as I'm concerned, emails are expected to be private communications and one should ask permission before making any public postings of their contents.

We are not public figures who have no right expectation of privacy :-)

RE: Bates family
Why the move to Vermont? No idea. It's a nice place. I did a little research on the Internet and found this: "In 1776 Francis Bates joined the number, moving from Rhode Island and settled on the farm now owned by S.J. Gardner, about one mile north of the village. Francis Bates was one of the Committee of Safety during the Revolution. He also assisted in organizing the First Baptist Church in Pownal, and died in his seventy-fifth year. It is said of him that he was always a peacemaker. His son Daniel died in August of 1842, and his son Orrin Bates still resides in the town." See

I haven't got much else, except what I have been able to find on Some information is contradictory, but at least I have found where they're buried.

RE: Waitstill Brown
But her death date was not 1768, it was 1773, so I'm thinking it has both she and the stillborn infant and just doesn't have her death date?

There were two more children, Nathan and Mary born after 1768, approximately 1769 and 1770.

Clara Stott
Clara was my Great Aunt...her sister Esther was my Grandmother. New to Find A Grave but thought I would touch base to see how you are related to her or if you just took the picture.
