|Bio and Links|
One of the best features of Find A Grave is that it provides a forum where years of genealogical research can be shared with others. Please let me know if you have additional biographical or statistical information for any of my memorials, as it is always welcome. The wealth of knowledge that others have sent to me through Find A Grave is astounding. |
If you are aware of links for parents and/or spouses that I have not yet added, I would appreciate it if you would use the edit tab to leave the name and Find A Grave number of the person or people who should be linked.
Thanks to all those who have generously shared your family stories and beautiful photos with me. I sincerely appreciate being allowed to add them to the memorials for your loved ones. The pictures and studio portraits that for years have been carefully preserved in family photo albums, add such a wonderful dimension to Find A Grave. They help create a memorial tribute that is all the more special and meaningful.
Before asking for a memorial transfer, please determine whether or not this is really necessary. Transfers of management should only be requested if you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections even if you are not the memorial manager. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a transfer request. It would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire family trees.
Transfers will be considered only if they comply strictly with Find A Grave guidelines. You must state your exact relationship to the deceased. Bulk surname transfers will not be made.
I have put a lot of time and effort into Find A Grave. I strive to make sure that the information on my memorials is as accurate as possible, but I am realistic and know that mistakes do happen. Please use the edit tab to leave a message regarding any errors or omissions that need to be corrected.
By working together, we can continue to build Find A Grave into a better and better site!
Note: 30 Sep 2013 marked a very sad day for all Find A Grave contributors when the founder of this website sold us out to ancestry.com.
I will continue to add to and maintain my memorials as long as Find A Grave remains a completely free website, open to all without charge.

Did you find Mariah's obit in the Alton telegraph too?
And again where did you find Richards parents names?
Thanks again, Gail
|Gail Hill||Richard Forbes|
Hi, You replied to me about looking on ancestry for the information I needed on Richard Tate. I am the one who has posted all the information to date about him. I am also the lady who left flowers on his memorial page.
Can you tell me where you found his parents names so I can verify them and please send me his Obit.
Also Please send me Mariah's Obit. Thank you so much.
If it helps you, my ancestry for the Forbes Family on my tree have all been verified if that information helps with the other questions about Louella Forbes
Richard Tate Forbes B: October 19,1841
D: April 12,1912
Mariah Burrows Forbes B: April 9, 1853

Will you check her Memorial to see if I have the information correct. I added the children from Henry Forbes Memorial. Are they all correct? Thanks.

|Gail Hill||THANK YOU|
Thank you for all the hard work you put into find a grave. I have been searching for more information on my GGGX Grandfather for many years. I didn't know he was called "Dick" and I had no idea who his parents were. If you have the obituary I would love to see it. How did you find his parents names. Would live to find out. Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks Gail S Hill
Richard "Dick" Tate Forbes
Birth: October 19,1841
Death: April 12, 1912

Lynn: Thank you for sending me the actual obituary. I thought the version on Find-A-Grave seemed worded oddly for a newspaper obituary. Not that there was anything wrong with it - it just didn't word things in the "typical" way obituaries do. I also apologize for sending you two blank messages a few minutes ago. I don't know what I did wrong but as soon as I finished saying "Dear Lynn" my message disappeared. I suspect it had to do with trying to start a new paragraph, so that is why this note is one big paragraph. I also saw that my two aborted messages were sent at 2:09 a.m. It's really 4:09 a.m. here. you would know better than i would.

I submitted an edit for his birthdate from 1902 to 1903 according to his death certificate I posted on his memorial he was born in 1903.
thank you so much for the bio of Augusta Mariah Burrows Forbes (my great, great grandmother.) I can not quite imagine how her four sons did not provide a tombstone for her. It probably is not too late to rectify that with a stone next to her husband, R.T.Forbes. am going to inquire of the cemetery if it is even possible and then look into the least expensive stone that her numerous descendants might chip in together to purchase.

OH! Sorry Lynn, I guess I overlooked (or maybe misunderstood) what you mentioned in the bio about Harvey. My apologies!
GREAT WORK! (If I run across any info on him, I'll let you know!)

I saw there was a photo request for Clara Merz grave at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in St. Louis County, MO. Her husband is listed as Arthur Merz. I noticed you manage both memorials and also the gravestone photo on Arthur's.
Would you mind copying the photo over to Clara's memorial as well? I'm in contact with a relative of them & I just could NOT find the gravestone today.
In looking at the picture on Arthur's memorial I'm flabbergasted that I walked right past the grave stone & didn't see the name. I remember it because after I walked around the back side of it, I saw doves like the ones pictured.
I will let the photo requester know to look for Arthur's memorial to see the picture.
