Next to all the wonderful volunteers who will take tombstone photos, I especially like the new link functions and the lengths Findagrave has gone to respect both family and volunteers efforts to create significant memorials while still giving full credit to the original creators both in name and in numbers. Thanks Findagrave!
I would be remiss if I didn't also express my gratitude to ROAGK volunteers who have found burial places and have taken tombstone photos as well, incuring costs for which they get little or no credit.
My hat's also off to findagravers building memorials and virtual cemetery combinations providing a vehicle to greatly enrich other researchers. Their time, energy and expense are also very impressive.
Most but not all of the listings are my ancestral lines. For any requests regarding linking, etc on memorials not of my family they will be transferred to you. If my family but your connection is closer I will be happy to transfer to you.
Corrections or additional info is very welcome
PLEASE use the EDIT/SUGGESTION functions to request links so I don't have to try to read my own awful handwriting and take twenty minutes to do a one minute task. Please include the name of the person with the number. Typos happen.

|Gerry Stanley||Zachariah Pees|
Memorial #6283403 is for Zachariah. I'm trying to research the Oak Grove, Missouri Cemetery as best I can. There is a man buried there by the name of Andrew Clark Pees, born in 1854 and died in 1924. His Missouri death certificate says his father was Zachariah Pees and his mother was Lydia Pees, both born in "America". It also states that Andrew was born in Washington (city or town), Pennsylvania (state or country). While it seems likely that Zachariah is his father, the bio for him says that his last child was born in 1849. The other conflict is the name of the mother, Lydia, not Jane. Since Zachariah is in your direct line I would rely on your advice as to whether or not you believe Andrew is a son of Zachariah? Please let me know what you think as I'd rather have no linkage than an incorrect one. Thank you.

Thank you for transferring these memorials to me. Your hard work is very much appreciated.
|Bob Law||RE: IOOF Chosen Friends|
Marjis: Thanks for your entires I have deleted the ones that I put in. The one for Robert is listed as Roberta Alice in the IOOF Chosen Friends Cemetery book and I notice on the stone it says mother. These are the only Hoaglands that are listed in the 1993 IOOf Chosen Friends Cemetery. Others may be there that were buried after 1993 when the book was printed. Hope this will help you.

Thanks for checking. Your reply got me thinking that maybe St Clair's father had served; when I checked records over at ancestry.com, discovered there is a filing app for military pension (Civil War), but not War of 1812. It's for James S. and widow Nancy S. Summers (St. Clair's parents), roll #T288_459. Not sure if that helps, though.
|Pat Baker||Saint Clair Kee Summers in War of 1812...|
Hi and thanks so much for your contributions. I'm a Summers descendant (Belinda Summers of the many names was my g-grandmother ;)). I'm interested in the notation on my ggg-grandfather's memorial page that he served in the War of 1812. (Possibly a water-boy? He would have been 13 years of age, so this has me curious!) Any info you might have is much appreciated!
|Jean Hudson||John W. Anderson|
John W. Anderson appears on the 1870 census age 10, with his parents John & Elizabeth Harbaugh Anderson. Is it possible that 1875 is the correct year of death and the age of 6 yrs 1 mo 22 days is in fact 16 years 1 mo 22 days?
|Richard S. Clark||Wm. H. Wilson, husband of Mary Jane Henderson|
I noticed you left flowers for Mary Henderson Wilson's memorial recently. I just found that her husband, W. H. Wilson, died and was buried in Kansas, not Illinois. I've made some corrections, noting that his marker at Monmouth cemetery is only a cenotaph. I re-linked Mary and their children to his memorial in Kansas, where his marker reads to the effect, "Monument in Monmouth, Ill.". I followed up by checking the Monmouth cemetery records, and indeed, found no burial for William there.
I still believe that "Aunt Betty" in the Wilson family plot at Monmouth is that of my gg-grandmother, Elizabeth Henderson Nash, Mary's sister. I think that Elizabeth's husband, Hugh Nash, and their daughter, Mary H. Nash, were buried together elsewhere in Monmouth cemetery without Elizabeth. Still haven't found proof yet in the Monmouth cemetery records, but haven't given up yet. As for "Aunt Betty" - Mary's son was married to Elizabeth's daughter (first cousins; actually, I haven't found a marriage record, but they had a daughter born in 1916). Could it be they were trying to conceal Elizabeth's identity, and that they were close cousins?

I have removed my duplicate memorial of my original memorial. The other duplicate by Richard Jordan must have been created before John Mathis added the stone photo. Thanks for alerting me. David
