I was born and raised in Gonzales, Texas, the "Lexington of Texas," where the first shot in the battle for Texas' independence from Mexico was fired. I moved back here in 1996 after living for years in the Houston area.
I'm fairly new to genealogy and photographing cemeteries. I am close to Caldwell, Fayette, and Lavaca counties, and most of my people are laid to rest in the various cemeteries in these counties, and, of course, Gonzales County. If any of your peoples' final resting places are in these counties, I will be glad to take a picture; just let me know.
As I send this, the memorial for Opal Brady Cowey has the middle name of Manez on her memorial. I'm not sure if that is correct for her or if it was derived from the photo. Nevertheless, Manez seems to be the correct middle name for the 16-year single young woman whose headstone is in your photograph.
