Bio for W. A. Walker etc
Having his mother listed as Lettie in W. A. Walker's bio really kind of confirms it for me. I am sure it does for you too.

I've updated Lettie Cornelius here

I added her husband but not his second wife. The 2nd wife is noted in the notes section.

I couldn't add all her children's name because I have to have at least a birth year to enter them and I did not have this information. I can add them or if you are familiar with you may add them yourself. I would be willing to let you adopt these Walker's if you want them.

Slowly, very slowly I am getting all my Cornelius's updated. I haven't really worked on them in a few years. I only wish I had more access to newspapers in Alabama. I have subscriptions to and but none of these newspapers have "The Southern Democrat" which most of the Cornelius' etc families were mentioned in. I have seen "The Southern Democrat" transcription books for sale but I'd rather have the actual newspaper clipping. Transcriptions can leave information out or have errors.

Have a great day, Mindy

William Asbury Walker
Thank you for sending the information on William. I will be updating this family today and this helps. Appreciate your help. I would assume that Lettice died in Texas somewhere perhaps Grayson Co., Texas? I won't assume but will note that that was the last place she was last recorded. Thanks again. Mindy

Lettice Cornelius
Thanks Eugene. I just wanted to make sure I understood correctly. I'm going to do a bit more research before I change her. Thanks, Mindy

Lettice Cornelius
d/o Jesse Cornelius. I'm trying to update her and I saw your posting at Is this from you?

I am trying to update her at this website:

I just started her notes so I don't have much. I believe Lettie / Settie & perhaps your Lettice are all the same. Am I on track or way off?

Thanks for any help. Mindy (383mgp @ altogether

RE: Hugo and Amy Voelkel
Hi Eugene

Thank you. Yes, I cannot imagine that Hugo and Amy Voelkel were not buried in Nordheim Cemetery but will try contacting someone in that branch of the family to see. If I get this resolved I'll be sure to let you know if only to just put it to rest and clear up one mystery in what must be many. Happy Holidays,

David Voelkel

RE: Corrections - Norma Voelkel Rogge
Thank you Eugene Cornelius for your prompt attention to the Voelkel - Rogge records. Great Uncle Hugo Voelkel was the eldest son as listed in the 1958 publication The Voelkels: A Pioneer Family in Texas. His wife was Amy and they had a very large family of sons (including Lindy Voelkel who worked at the bank in Nordheim form many decades - his wife is Georgia Mae Voelkel and I believe is still alive last I recall from conversations with my dad (who recently passed) and possibly in Nordheim- and one daughter, Nina. I remember visiting their farm outside of Nordheim during my childhood in the 1970's and early 80's. I'll contact my father's youngest sister, Beverly V. Bohach of Victoria, TX and see if she has any additional information as I had always assumed Hugo and Amy were buried in Nordheim Cemetery with the rest of his generation and their parents. Best wishes and happy holidays, David Voelkel
