I just wanted to thank "Laurel" for her help in finding my father, aunt, uncle and brother. She only asks that anyone she helps, "pay it forward". I hope that I was able to do that today by adding several people and photos to their listings.|
If at anytime you find something that you would like removed, please contact me immediately and I will honor your wishes and respect your privacy.
I only hope that you find your "special angel" like I did..... and then you too can "pay it forward"!!
** I enjoy being able to "document" any memorials that I add to Find-A-Grave with photos. I feel that being able to "source" my information with an actual photo allows the family members a opportunity to feel as if they are right there with their loved ones. **

You are so welcome! And thank you for your nice response.
Please pay it forward.

I am a F-A-G volunteer like you are. I am doing this to save you time and disappointment. I would want to be treated this same way.
Sadly, there is absolutely NO cooperation from the San Luis Cemetery with Find A Grave volunteers. I was threatened with the police by the owner of the San Luis Cemetery, just talking to him over the phone.
However, there has been great success with the San Luis Obispo County Genealogical Society. They completed exhaustive photographing of gravestones at San Luis Cemetery.
You can email a request for a photo of the grave stone(s) you are looking by doing the following; and they will respond promptly:
Address your email to
Put in the subject line
San Luis Cemetery Headstone photo
Give them the name and birth and death dates, or as much as you know.
Ask them to send a picture of the headstone, and tell them how you are related or what your interest is in this person.
They will appreciate that. This information may only be used in genealogical research.
They will email you within a day or two with an attached photo(s), if it exists.
I will ask that your request be removed (so others arenít discouraged), now that you have a very reliable and quick way to achieve your goal. If there is any problem, please let me know.

Long and funny story. The cemetery is officially closed, but it opens one day a year - John Glassford and I prepped for that day only to find it locked - so we called, and they opened it for us - we spent the whole day doing the entire cemetery, only to find that a third graver had also visited from Oklahoma two days before. I regret the amount of shade, but at least you can read some of them.

You are so welcome and thank you for your kind comments. Anita
|John Shelton||RE: David Knight Shelton|
He is a 2nd cousin once removed; so, he is not really close. That said, I would love to have him if you would transfer management to me. I see family members in NC occasionally and could probably come up with a story or two to add later.

You are very welcome. Yours in search of Family History.

|Brett Langston Rowland||Phoebe Langston Potts Langston|
Phoebe's father was John Langston and mother Rebecca Potts. First she married Henry Bennett Jones about 1896 then she married Henry B Langston about 1932. So she was born a Langston and yet she also married a cousin who was a Langston. That happens in my family a lot. I hope this settles your questions.
|Kathy Adams||RE: Mary, Robert, John Wright|
I have made the links to their parents per your request. Have made transfers so that you may add additional info as needed. I have no family links to the Wright family and would prefer the memorial be under "keep" of a Wright family member.
|Stephen Keefe||RE: Ruth Elbourn Neuhard|
Thanks very much, Linda!
|Karen Huerta||RE: Johnny Kemp|
You are most welcome, and I will go back and try again, but I need to bring a small rake to try and get some of the stuff out from under the shrubbery and see if there is anything else under there.
