SOMEONE ASK ME WHY I SPEND COUNTLESS HOURS (THOUSANDS) DOING WHAT I DO. (GENEALOGY)
THERE ARE MANY REASONS, IT IS A NEVER ENDING HOBBY THAT KEEPS ME BUSYAND I RECIEVE SATISFACTION IN EDUCATING OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS ABOUT THEIR ANCESTORS.BUT MOST OF ALL I DO IT TO PAY HOMAGE TO TO OUR PAST ANCESTORS BY RESTORING THEM TO LIVING MEMORY. YOU KNOW AS LONG AS ONE IS REMEMBERED THEY ARE LOVED.
IN ECCLESIASTES 9:5 IT STATES "THE DEAD KNOW NOT ANYTHING, NEITHER HAVE THEY ANY MORE A REWARD FOR THE MEMORY OF THEM IS FORGOTTEN". THIS IS TRUE UNLESS WE REMEMBER THEM. IS THIS NOT REASON ENOUGH TO PRESERVE THEIR NAMES IN THE ALMS OF HISTORY, IN OTHERS MINDS AND ON THE HEAD STONES OF THEIR FINAL RESTING PLACE, MOST OF YOU ADMIT YOU ARE COMFORTED BY THE THOUGHT THAT YOUR LOVED ONES LIVES ARE DOCUMENTED AND WILL REMAIN FOREVER A PART OF HISTORY, BE IT IN THE FAMILY TREE OF GENEALOGY OR WRITTEN IN STONE. WHY ELSE WOULD YOU VISIT THE CEMETERIES EXCEPT TO REMEMBER YOUR LOVED ONES. THIS IS ANOTHER REASON I ASK YOU TO VISIT THE FINDAGRAVE.COM SITE AND ADD YOUR LOVED ONES NAMES AND ADD NOTES, PICTURES AND FLOWERS. (ITS EASY TO DO AND ITS FREE) .... OR TELL ME WHERE THEY ARE BURIED AND I WILL PLACE THEIR NAMES ON THE SITE. (MANY ARE ALREADY THERE) EVERYONE WANTS TO GO TO HEAVEN, BUT NOBODY WANTS TO DIE BUT IS IT NOT COMFORTING TO KNOW YOU LEAVE THIS WORLD A BETTER PLACE BECAUSE YOU WERE HERE. ISN'T IT NICE TO KNOW YOU WILL ALSO BE REMEMBERED. MARK MINE "BILLY RAY HOOTEN FAMILY MAN" ............
NOW YOU KNOW WHY I DO WHAT I DO.
LOVE TO YOU ALL
BILLY RAY

S.C Gunter's
Was wondering if You have a Gunter connection?
I noticed the Rivers Gunter and that was one of the Old Gunter names in My family also Banks was one of mine. My Gunter's came to Alabama from S.C. before the civil war.

Thanks
Sorry about the mix-up.. We appreciate the offer. She said her great granny was Lura Temple Patterson Stewart , her husband was Clarence Elmo aka Jack Stewart.. I hope this will b a good start. We know her uncle Marty lives in Lone Oak still but he does not remember much.

Sandy Lyle Rakestraw
Wildwood Community Cemetery
Hi Billy Ray,
Can you tell me where Wildwood Community Cemetery is located? I have found some distant family members of mine that are supposedly buried there. The last name is Regan.
But, I put in requests for a picture of their gravemarkers on Find A Grave and was told this cemetery is not to be found. I looked online and cannot find a listing for it there.
Could it be listed under a different name?
I would appreciate any info you can give me.
Thanks,
Sandy
