Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my family history since 1973. Find A Grave is a great resource. Surnames important to me: Harp, Hoagey, Swavely, Krause, Sheafer, Kline, Keeney, Irvin. Most of our family was in Pennsylvania.

Oakland Cemetery has over 15,000 known interments. The Bureau County Genealogical Society has maps and caretaker records for this cemetery. The BCGS has very good information on all the cemeteries in the county.

I enjoy the search and challenge of finding the graves. Photo requests get my highest priority. When I go out to fulfill a photo request, I photograph all the markers in the family plot. The rules I follow; "Photograph the grave/gravesite "in-situ", or as it appears in that moment in time. The purpose is to show the grave as it is, be it dirty, cluttered, broken, or pristine. It is not your job to clean it, clear it, fix it, or decorate it. The graves are not yours to do as you please. Remember, one person's "good deed" just might be another person's vandalism. Go take lots of photos...but do it like an anthropologist and do not disturb the grave site. -AJ" Mar. 10, 2013

When time permits, if a memorial does not exist I create one. I also search for some records to tie the people together and add a bio. I have a backlog of photos to create memorials. Each trip involves multiple cememteries and normally 300 to 500 photos.

If you would like to use my photos, please ask. I have recently experienced some issues with my photos being used inappropriately. I want to share, but I want to know who, what, where, how? the photos will be used. Transfers and edits, please use the EDIT tab.

RE: Samuel Kasbeer 79469090
Thank you for adding the photos from Limerick Cemetery to Samuel's memorial in Jerusalem Cemetery... I was out there today and could not find Sam's original gravestone... I did however find the gravestone for his daughter Hannah...

RE: Samuel Kasbeer 79469090
The year of birth on Memorial# 79469090 is incorrect... Notice the date of death Jan. 25, 1835 is exactly the same... The inscription for Samuel on the gravestone with Mary in Limerick Cemetery is 40y 11m 21d, this equals a birth date of Feb. 4, 1794... Feb 4, "1823" is on the memorial where 1823 was transcribed incorrectly and is in the cemetery records... I sent a correction for the year of birth for Samuel on the memorial...

The gravestone with Mary states Samuel died in Tuscarawas County... Samuel married Mary Shull 10 Mar 1817 in Tuscarawas Co... In 1830 Samuel was enumerated to York Township, Tuscarawas County... Jerusalem Church Cemetery is in York Township... In 1840 Mary was enumerated in York Township...

Samuel and Mary's daughter Hannah is also buried in Jerusalem Church Cemetery... Her memorial also has incorrect dates for both birth and death that came from cemetery inscriptions... I'm not sure when she was born or died but it was not in 1916... I live fairly close to this cemetery and have been there before... Next time I'm there I will try to find Samuel and Hannah but many of the old stones are missing or almost impossible to read... But one thing is certain, Memorial# 19695810 and Memorial# 79469090 are of the same Samuel Kasbeer...

Har37, thank you so much. My parents were born in Geneseo. I was born in Rock Island. I am getting older and moved to Florida. I haven't got back to "downstate" Illinois for a number of years. Last time, I took a bunch of pictures in Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo. I posted most to Find a Grave. As they say in Geneseo "there are more people in Oakwood than in town". Again, thank you very much. John Lambert

Thanks for the headstone photos and the correction of James Vickrey. Looks like fall has come to Princeton. I'm just about thru with all the "W's" that need a headstone photo. Robyn
