John James Armstrong was born in Amarillo, Potter County, TX, the son of David Clinton and Anna Marie (Goranson) Armstrong. He was reared on the family farm out from Panhandle, Carson County, TX. John graduated from Panhandle High School and The University of Texas at Austin with a BS degree in Pharmacy. He resided in MD and AL as a pharmacist for the U.S. Public Health Service. He resigned his commission and returned to Greenville, TX, where for a year he pursued a MS degree in computer science becoming a graduate school dropout. He continued his pharmacist career with McGaughey, Revco, Eckerd, and Super 1 Foods & Discount Pharmacy|
His genealogy interest was inspired by an aunt, Gladys Mae Armstrong (1900-1991), in the late 1970's. From there the interest has grown more into assisting others in their research where he can rather than doing research on his family. His particular interest is in newspaper indexation as shown in a way with the Website address. The photo is from a few years back... To God be the Glory, Great Things He Has Done!
Go to the memorials and click on Edit, then click on suggest a correction. You can request the transfer there. An email will be sent to the person maintaining the memorial along with the memorial # and your contributor #.
Be aware that this "contributor 47317082" may usurp a memorial you created either by copying it in toto or by stealing your photos with editing for "her" memorial leaving "duplications". She has also been known to create a new memorial for an existing one which was lacking a date of death; she then requests that findagrave merge your memorial into hers which they do removing you as the original submitter. I do not participate in findagrave to compile a large number of memorials; I do it to help others. Apparently, and in contrast, BettyJ is of the same ilk as Hillary Clinton. Enough said.

John, may I transfer the Terrell memorial to you? Thank you for the work that you do that helps make the world a better place. I remember the hours that you spent in the back room of the courthouse digging through records to help other searchers that were unable to travel to Hunt County.

John I don't think she can live long enough to be top Contributor. Top man John S. has 3,104,833 Memorials he controls. LOL

Thank you for your dedication to find-a-grave. You've done an outstanding service for those looking for family members. I did see your photograph for George Witt's grave and his flat surface marker, but I did not see that his wife Mathilda on your site. I am at the cemetery now and I've been searching; however, the cemetery is quite large to find such a small marker I am curious if you can give me some kind of direction where you saw George's and perhaps his wife's marker?
