No Obits in the last 15 years?
John,
One of your memorials, Sr Mary Lidwina Simon was featured on the right side of the Find A Grave page.

I did read your Bio and noted your statement:
"I will NOT put recent obituaries on any of my memorials; I will not post any obituaries from the past 15 years". That Disturbed me.

I wish for you to view my memorials 142011801 or 144400957. Had I not posted the obituary, an incredible amount of Military History would have been lost for the viewing of the young people of the world. It is important for upcoming generations to know the history of the people that came before them.

I do not search for obits prior to 2007, that is the duty and responsibility of the family. Some stones prompt me to go a little further; these two memorials were complete blow-outs.

John, I am asking you to reconsider your thoughts about not posing obituaries.

Thank You for your good work in Find A Grave, We are an "Elite Few".

Hi John,

Thank you for writing. I actually have very few photos of the Bingens besides a picture of (Johann b. 1819) and some of his descendants:

If you have any pictures I'd be glad to see them.

RE: Karl Christian (1866-1897)
Hi again! Found memorial for Karl Herman Christian's son, Leonard William (## 8731983) linked to his spouse Edna but showing birthdate of 1895 instead of 1896. My records (censuses and his WWI Draft Card Registration #780 under "Leonardt Christian") show his birth year as 1896. Once proved, this son can be linked to Karl and Alwina's Find A Grave Memorials.

RE: Karl Christian (1866-1897)
Most of Carl and Emilie Christian's children were married at Immanuel Lutheran in Lebanon, Dodge Co WI but one (Louis Christian) was married at St. Matthews Lutheran in 1893. Perhaps they married in Watertown (Jefferson Co) WI?

Here's another link I found that might prove that Alwina Braunschweig married William Francis Kulke in April 1905. This could be a second or even third marriage for her as it shows parents as Caroline Tietz and Lewis (Ludwig?) Braunschweig. Hope this helps.

RE: Karl Christian (1866-1897)
Yes, I have the marriage record from two sources: Dodge Co Genealogical Society Lebanon Dodge Co Church records and Wisconsin Marriages 1836-1930.

See my additional posting on his memorial. I have suggested that the Alwina Braunschweig linked to his memorial be removed until parents are proven. She appears to be ten years younger and would have been only 20 years of age when he died.

Go to this link for one of the records online:

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Mickelsons at Graceland
Thanks, John, for creating the Mickelson memorials at Graceland and the quick edits I requested. They are distant relatives that I had been looking for so your efforts were a blessing for me. I appreciate your attitude as expressed in your bio. Thanks again.
