Bio and Links
Bio Photo This has been my hobby for over seven years, started long before I discovered any websites for posting them.
I find myself concentrating on the older, broken, unreadable tombstones, the ones that, because of layers of mold, lichen and grime, are so obscure that people tend to walk right past them. I get more satisfaction uncovering a lost individual's stone than I do photographing huge monuments that will be around for a thousand years and those more modern ones of the men whose bones have partially disintegrated while still clothed in the everlasting polyester suits that they were buried in!

RE: wrong photo
I was wondering the same thing. I know Ancestry.com bought find a grave this year. I hope they don't start charging us.

RE: wrong photo
That was odd. I deleted the obit. Sorry about that. There may be other photos on the memorial. You decide on the order in which you want them. There could be another page.

Cheryl, I love the picture!! Do you have any more photos of the Schneider family? I am related to William Joseph, born 1864, brother of Emil.

Thank you Cheryl. I have no idea how that happened. I removed it this morning. Now to find where it belongs. :-)

Thanks for letting me know that the picture had been placed in error. Shortly after Find a Grave had it's computer glitch I had too other instances reported to me which I fixed. The lady who reported them to me said some of her photos had been misplaced as well. I hope this is not going to becme a majot issue.

St. John's Lutheran Cemetery
Hi Cheryl,

In looking into this situation I have found an interesting fact. Are you aware that somehow all of the entries that were supposed to be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery (St. Donatus) have been combined into the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery (Bellevue)? I have sent an email to Find A Grave trying to get this matter fixed. Thank you for starting me on this mission.

RE: 2 different cemeteries
Hi Cheryl,

I have no clue how these two cemeteries got messed up. I had this problem several years ago. Some person had used some of my photos and entered them on the St. Donatus cemetery page and the Bellevue Cemetery page. I am not sure if they are still incorrect or not. I had contacted Find A Grave concerning this at that time and nothing happened to resolve the situation. I will contact Find A Grave and have that little blurb about the names being the same dealt with. Let's see what happens this time. I see that Jon has entered a photo of the St. Donatus church in the incorrect place for Bellevue Lutheran Cemetery. I will contact him about this situation. I do not know Thomas Wickie who has done the same thing but I will contact him also.

Yes please feel free to use my photos for your project, I only ask that they be used in the correct places. Ha! Ha!

Please keep me up on your progress with this matter.

Thank You
Thomas Henning

family stones
Thanks for all your work photographing all the stones in Delaware Co. Every one of my family I look up the photo has been taken by you. Do you live in the area? You always have such good photos. Do you use chalk on the lettering? Thanks Nancy

Irene M. Hildebrand
Hello. I have been looking for an Irene Timp Hildebrand, not sure if this is her or not. Do you know what Irene's maiden name was? I noticed that the name on the Findagrave page and the stone are spelled differently. Hildebrand vs. Hillebrand, do you know why? Findagrave # is 111243639, spouse is Clarence N. Hildebrand. St. Paul Cemetery in Worthington, IA Dubuque County. Thank you for your help. Dolores Findagrave # 46991047
