I started walking cemeteries in early 2012, though I have had a find-a-grave account for quite a while. Never considered it might get to be such a gripping hobby.|
I take photos. What else can I say...walk, stop, snap a pic...keep walking. Pretty much wraps up what I do. I never planned on creating and managing memorials. I printed lists of ones others had made that needed photos. Filling an empty memorial with an image was just the start. Finally I just started taking a picture of every last stone I could find ('mowing the rows' is what they call it) and then make sure each and every name is memorialized on this website.
I will gladly transfer anyone that is not related to me (that is about 99% of them)...just let me know how YOU are related. It also means I send a lot of notes if the info on a page is in err...or if there is another name on a stone that the manager may want to add as well.

|Janice Peay||Additional Holt transfers|
Thank you for the many Holt transfers. I've been adding to them, and hope to make them so they are more helpful to others.
Thanks for creating them in the first place, and for the photos you've added as well.

Thank you for the transfer of Byron and Ludie Holt. I'll take good care of them!
|rkclove||RE: Photos of CADY headstones|
I can't thank you enough Michael and as I have time, I might be adding edit requests to list parents, spouses and siblings in the findagrave memorials that you created.
By the way, maybe with your expertise around cemeteries especially in Iowa, I ran across a military headstone application record on Ancestry for Joe L Cady Jr (son of Joseph L Cady 1878-1953 and Sarah J Sadie Hupp 1883-1962) born 1918 who died at the Battle of the Bulge --a flat granite marker that is suppose to be at Williams Cemetery--I put in a photo request on findagrave--Have you run into it? I noticed on your profile that you had photographed Williams Cemetery--maybe it was not installed? I have not a clue how it works...I can send you a copy of the record if can help in case you might see something on it that indicates it is at a different cemetery. Thank you again. Sincerely, Kim rkclove

Hi Michael, I would like your permission to use the photos you have taken of the Cady surname headstones (mostly at Williams Cemetery but there are a few at other Iowa cemeteries) to be added to my private trees. Of course, I will note that you are the photographer. Lemuel L Cady 1843-1891 at Williams Cemetery would be my daughter's 3rd great grandfather(my mother-in-laws great grandfather) and of course most of the other Cady's are his descendants. Thank you too for creating all the findagrave memorials! It is much appreciated. Sincerely, Kim rkclove

|SandyR||Baby Girl Bailey|
Thanks for taking the picture and now for linking the family. Not related to family but have known them for 35 years. Mother of baby girl always wanted to go there to find the grave, but never got there. She is gone now, but I wanted to link them together, out of respect for the parents.

|Theresa Caudillo||Correction for David S Darnell|
Hi Michael, several months ago I had sent you a message regarding David name. His middle name is Scott not Samuel as a lot of people believe. I have a copy of his name from marriage license, family bible, census etc. I have sent a request for a correction. Could you please make the correction also. Thank you
|mtw||Grave marker photo request|
Dear Micheal, Some time back, you posted a photo of the grave marker of my cousin, Byron Othello Osborn(62779977). I just made a memorial for his wife, Gertrude J.Osborn(134344856). Would it be possible for you to add photos of her grave marker to her memorial? I would certainly appreciate your help with this. I am in Ponca City, Oklahoma and I just can't get up there to take it myself. If you can't, please let me know. Thank you so very much. Monty Williams.
