Philip Burrows
Private F Baseley
Hello there,

I have this Cemetery as the final resting place of my Great Grandfather who was born in Staverton, Northamptonshire, England April 1880 and was the Son of George Baseley and Harriett Lucus he died 17/February/1917 in Flanders according to the records I have found on Ancestry.
I have traced him to this place but as to how and why he was buried in a German cemetery is a mystery to me.
I would if possible like any further information as to the exact details of the circumstances of his death, I noticed on your records as you have as unmarried or unknown he left behind a daughter who at the time of his death was 18 and as to whether she was his actual wife I do not know.
The daughter was Sarah Elizabeth Hudson and the Mother Mary Elizabeth Hudson who both appear in the 1901 census which they are living with his parents in Northamptonshire where they have stated they are married and they have a 2 year old daughter Sarah Elizabeth Baseley.
Move on 10 years and in the 1911 census things have changed they are all together but an entirely different scenario now is Frank Baseley is single and Mary Elizabeth is down as a boarder as well as her daughter my Grandmother.
If you have a photograph of the grave I would certainly like to see it and any records as well and depending on the cost I would be willing to pay for the items.

Many thanks

Philip Burrows
