This has been my hobby for over seven years, started long before I discovered any websites for posting them.|
I find myself concentrating on the older, broken, unreadable tombstones, the ones that, because of layers of mold, lichen and grime, are so obscure that people tend to walk right past them. I get more satisfaction uncovering a lost individual's stone than I do photographing huge monuments that will be around for a thousand years and those more modern ones of the men whose bones have partially disintegrated while still clothed in the everlasting polyester suits that they were buried in!

|Little Fir||Burgin/Rhines Photos|
I love the picture you posted on several of the memorials that was taken after Alva Burgin's funeral. I had never seen it before. The people in the photo are named but no identity is given to the photo (of a man) which hangs behind the group. I'm guessing it is Alvin Burgin, is that correct? If so he surely resembles his brother Uri, who was my great grandfather. Do you know if there are any of those books available for sale that the photo appeared in?

No problem! Thanks for the quick response.
I think that the memorial ID #s for the two men are like one number different from each other. We have it all straight now, that's what matters! Thanks for your help! Janet

Hi again Cherly,
Actually there were 13 children and I can send you the rest when you are ready.

Would you please add my mother (John's daughter) to the list of children? Anna Mae Catherine Rausch.

Thank you for the photo

Thanks for adding the marker transcription along with the other information. (The stone is a little hard to read for some of us.)

|Susan (Klein) Keppler||Arthur Michel|
I believe that this person is Alfred Michel. which is the name on the photo of the stone that is in the photo in findagrave. This is my friends grandfather.
Arthur's wife is Margaret E Michel buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Key West, Dubuque, Iowa. Her memorial number is #72091115.
I would appreciate it if you could please add these corrections.

Thank you very much for updating his memorial.

What wonderful treats you leave for me, Cheryl!
Love the 50th anniversary photo of the Goedkens.
Hope you're staying warm, dry and safe. It's brutal in Kansas City but I know it's been a fierce winter up there, too.

|Dawn D. Wolfe||Thomas Pittam Memorial|
Thank you for adding the information I had for my 4th grt-grandfather Thomas Pittam. It is believed his wife is buried next to him, but the headstone is broken off and missing. I very much appreciate your kindness!
