Bio and Links
Bio Photo This has been my hobby for over seven years, started long before I discovered any websites for posting them.
I find myself concentrating on the older, broken, unreadable tombstones, the ones that, because of layers of mold, lichen and grime, are so obscure that people tend to walk right past them. I get more satisfaction uncovering a lost individual's stone than I do photographing huge monuments that will be around for a thousand years and those more modern ones of the men whose bones have partially disintegrated while still clothed in the everlasting polyester suits that they were buried in!

Grave sites for Isaac Henry Jacobson, Anna Rosenbloom Jacobson, and Samuel Jacobson
Dear Cheryl Locher Moonen,
I would like to thank you for taking pictures of my Grandfather, Grandmother, and Great Grndfather's grave site. I have no family members currently living in Dubuque, and I appreciate you pictures very much.
Sincerly,
David Jacobson

RE: gravesites in Dubuque, Iowa
Cheryl, Thank you so much for the help. She must be there somewhere. What office are you referring to? I could contact them, if I had an address. My email is survey201@hotmail.com Don't waste too much of your time on my request. The burden should be on me. I appreciate all of your efforts. Any info that I you find is great. This is the only branch of my family (and most direct), that I have struggled to trace. Everything hits a wall there. Thanks, Tom Maxwell

RE: gravesites in Dubuque, Iowa
Cheryl, Thanks much for the help. I haven't been to Dubuque in 40 years, when I went with my Maxwell grandparents, to visit my great grandparents grave sites. My great grandparents were Thomas F Maxwell and Amanda Caroline Ward Maxwell, both buried in Linwood, along with two of their sons who died young, Frankie and Charlie. There is no picture of Amanda's grave. My gg grandfather, Samuel B Ward, is also buried there, and my assumption is that my gg grandmother, Samantha Ward, is also buried there with him, since she lived with her daughter in Dubuque until she died. I am looking for confirmation of that, and any gravesite photos that might be available. I may have to travel up from Virginia to check it out. If you find anything, please let me know, and thank you for the message.

gravesites in Dubuque, Iowa
I am searching for the gravesite of my great great grandmother, Samantha Ward. She died after 1910 in Dubuque. Her husband was Samuel B Ward, buried in the Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque. His epitaph says "husband", but where is his wife, Samantha? My great grandparents are also buried there, and you manage several sites there. They were Thomas F Maxwell and Amanda Caroline Ward Maxwell, plus two other Wards, brothers to Amanda, are also buried there. I know that Samantha lived with her daughter, Amanda C Ward Maxwell in Dubuque, until her death. I imagine that she is buried right there in the Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque, with all the other family members, but is somehow unlisted. Since you created the memorials, I was hoping that you could possibly confirm this assumption, and/or add her to the Find a grave list. I would appreciate any help that you might be able to add to my searches. Thank you for any help.

Obits
Thank you Cheryl for the obits you have sent for Cascade, Iowa. I have posted them all except for one for Virginia Gross which turned out to be the wrong VG. There were 2 with the same name that died the same year. Your efforts are appreciated.
