Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Darla (Cochran) Greer. I was born in California but now live in Eastern Tennessee. I have three grown children and four adorable grand children. I love poking around old cemeteries - they are amazing! I absolutely love this site and hope to contribute to it alot more when I retire. I have been working on my family tree for years - it is an obsession I think. My paternal line is Cochran from Scotland/Ireland. They settled for several generations in Cabarrus/Mecklenburg North Carolina. Some other names are Alexander, Harris, Allison, Carr. My Grandmother Cochran's maiden name was Stump, others in her line are Traylor, Earven, and Martin to name a few.
My maternal line is from Scotland and Ireland for the most part. They settled in Canada for many generations, my Mother was born a "Milne". Her father was killed when she was only six years old. My Grandmother remarried, her new husband adopted my Mother, and the family moved to the United States in 1947. Some names include: Milne, Stewart, Allen/Allan, Brewster and Ellis...

RE: Thank you Jim!
Hi Darla, glad to assist. I made a mistake thinking Helen Stewart Milne was the outstanding photo request, but just noticed it was Nellie Milne d: 1953 that is outstanding. I'll check for that marker. Thx. Jim

Sarah Pharr
Just for your records:
Sarah and Walter are buried in different graveyard/cemetery.
Sarah is in the Rocky River Cemetery behind the current church. plot 7 H #463 (no other Pharr's are buried near her according to the church's records. I tried to find her tombstone yesterday and was unsuccessful, I will go back again to try and locate it.
Walter F. is buried in Pharr Graveyard plot #8
(upper NE corner) In this graveyard there are 27 marked graves 18 of them bearing the name Pharr. The last burial was in 1907, the first was in 1822 according to records kept.
According to documentation different graveyards were used base on the weather. I do not know if this is the case in your great....... grandparents.
I got the information out of the church's cemetery book. They sell it for $8, or you can pick one up at the church for $6.

Sarah Pharr
In the same cemetery as Sarah Pharr there are 70 other Pharr's buried there. There is not one section that has a group of family members. If you can give me the names of her family members, I will do my best to get the pictures you need.

RE: James Madison Wood
No I don't...wish I did. I heard same story. James had 11 children when they married. Annie must have been a very special woman to take on such a huge responsiblity raising and helping raise such a large family. Mom always referred to her as "Miss Annie". One story mom told me was Miss Annie was talking about how horrible it was for women to smoke cigarettes...she said it was a dirty habit but mom said Miss Annie dipped snuff. To me personally that is worse than cigarettes.

Do you have any photos? I have some I would be willing to share after school is out when I have the time to sort thru them...you can contact me at the following address...ldg@cctc.net...I will warn you this is no longer my primary email and it does not get checked as often as the other one. I will give you primary thru cctc address and it will be more private.
