Helping to Add photos and listing to the 14 Cemeteries of Harmon County, Oklahoma...Visit my genealogy located at "Free" site at Rootsweb.com over 190,000 entries. I started genealogy in 1995 before I had a computer, used Family History Center in Bagdad, Arizona where I found friends who loved genealogy as much as I do! Moved back to Delbert's Roots in Oklahoma to retire. I have walked the 14 cemeteries many times making lists to place online, now, walking with my camera... to update ! (On my third camera)
P S: If you notice a big dark blob on the marker, it may be my DNA...SWEAT....got a few drops on some in Wellington, Texas! HA! July 14, 2012

Many many thanks to my Friend MARILYN of the Dodson Cemetery Association for the wonderful bios she has sent !!! She is doing a fantastic job digging up this information and I am very grateful for her giving a story to these pages !!!
Hours of work, enhancing these Memorial pages in Texas and Oklahoma.
I hear ethereal whispers, persuasive, soft and still, "Daughter, if you don't remember us, who will ?"..(stolen from .., who stole it from ..!)

Possibly you aren't aware that the listings in Mulberry Cemetery for the Rev. Perry 114275768 and wife Lena 114275877 McArthur are duplicates of earlier listings (which also appears to have been created by a relative) I linked their daughter to the earliest listings, so could you please delete the dupes since Find a Grave doesn't allow for them. Thanks. :)

Looks like I sent you 3 suggestions on Find A Grave memorial for Windle Perrin. Sorry about that.

|Mark Johnson||RE: Mary Elizabeth|
You are correct. Some one else put that Mary was the daughter of John C. Wade. Mary's only daughter Lois Gertrue Chappell was married to John C. Wade. Mary's husband & the father of Lois was Wesley Thomas Chappell 1852-1891. He died the same year that Lois was born. Mary never remarried & lived with John & Lois most of the years until she died. I sent a correction to the owner of Mary's Memorial at Dryden Cemetery.
It now reads as follow:
Mary's father was James Beatty Long & her mother was Louise Prudence Johnson. Her husband was Wesley Thomas Chappell born Sep 24, 1852 in Tennessee & died Nov 30, 1891 in Texas. Their only daughter was Lois Gertrue Chappell who married John Candler Wade.
These people are related to my dau-in-law's father's family.
Thanks for your help. Mark
|Mark Johnson||Mary Elizabeth "Bettie" Long Chappell|
In doing my genealogy on Bettie Chappell it appears the memorial & headstone picture for Bettie was placed in the wrong cemetery. You have them in the Russell, Greer County cemetery but Bettie is buried in the Dryden, Harmon County cemetery. If you check the records for the two cemeteries it shows she is in Dryden. The Dryden memorial is #123168799 & your Russell memorial is #78676076. Would it be possible for you to transfer your photo of her headstone to the Dryden memorial and delete the Russell memorial.
Thank you so much for all your photos & work on the cemeteries!
Sincerely, Mark Johnson

Thank you for all of your hard work on this site. I have found a few errors as I have started documenting each person buried there. I have submitted corrections.
Please, please do not think in any way that I am critizing or trying to critique your work, you have done an amazing job and of course we all make human error. I am currently going down each row and taking pics with my iPad so that I can verify to this website. It helps me become familiar with who is all there.
I am now the Treas of the Assoc and my mother's parents and my father, his parents, grandparents and great grandparents are all there. I am happy to be a part of this association and again Thank You for all your work.
If I can be of assistance to you please let me know. I am marking each interment as I go by row with yellow flowers and giving a location of their plot. You can see this on my dads interment...his name is Woody Parker. This will, of course, take me some time. It is a good cold weather indoor job.
